5000watts is roughly 365 amp draw plus the draw of your existing electrical system. So truthfully dual 270 ho altenators is plenty. Running only 1 alt would be risky even with 2 yellow tops. It would work for awhile but eventually your altenator would give out. You could prolong by putting your batteries on a charge every night to keep them charged but you really need 2 alternators to eliminate headaches. Use a isolator switching system for your batteries. Good luck. U could install converters for plugging into a 110/220volt power for shows . ;)

Question:
A friend told me that i would have to run 4 alternators, and 4 extra batteries for this system. Is this true? I was originally going to run one 270 HO Alternator, and two yellow top batteries. (maybe dual 270 alts). Be as specific and in depth as you possibly can! thank you!!!
