1. The HCCA excursion you are quoting is peak to peak excursion.

2. The L7 has a sensitivity of 89.4db. The HCCA has sensivity ratings of 84db for the 10 and 12. Therefore, the kicker is much more efficient.

Theoretically on paper, the kicker would be slightly louder with 1000 watts compared to the HCCA at 2000 watts. This is because a rule of thumb is that the SPL increases by 3db everytime you double the power.

However, that 3db increase doesnt theoretically overcome the 5.4db advantage the L7 has efficiency wise... We are speaking as if the amps would have the subs exact power rating.

Plus, add to the fact that its much much more easier on your alternator with a 1000 watt amp compared to a 2000 watt amp, which would cause a major strain on your alt, and you would experience voltage dips.

IMO, the hcca setup would be cooler, but the kicker setup sounds like it will be cheaper, a tad louder, and easier on your car.
