i just replaced my old sony xplod amp with this older orion extreme 400 amp.i bought a fuse block for it, after i tried hooking u without the fuse block, and when i touched the battery(red) cable to it's spot on the amp, it sparked and blew both fuses....so i replaced the fuses on the amp...and now it will turn on but i can't seem to get it to transmit to my pioneer subs. i can rule out 3 things that are not wrong with it right now, but i'm not sure what else to do ....what more could it be...?
-it turns on, so the remote wire is correct
-battery cable, and ground cable are both installed correctly...(or else the amp wouldn't turn on i guess)
-the rca input on the amp is plugged with the rca wires, BUT here is where i have a minor detail.
L the rca cables are not connected to the rca inputs on the back of my after market head unit, they are connected to an adapter (so to speak) that connects to my factory speakers (ford 2001 ranger). when i tried hooking the rca wires to the old xplod it didnt work so i figure this might be where the problem is at....but still not sure, so any one have an answer...
thanks
