Only Connect (BBC4)

Also the Insurance people were less versed in popular culture - they needed to have spotted Craggy Island quicker which would have helped however they seemed not to have heard of it. It also let them down in the first two rounRAB.

However I always feel that the three of them doing the wall adRAB to the problem - the one pressing the buttons gets it from both sides. There have been a few times in previous games where they have got flustered or one of the others starts pressing buttons which adRAB to the confusion.

Only Connect is marvellous- and VC is an utter delight. I love her jokes too! I'd like to see OC vs QI in some form- and to see Victoria and the dashing Giles do something together would be great!

i thought the walls in the Strategists v Polymaths were very unbalanced. Playing at home one was an easy ten whereas the other was a hard fought four.

I am not a fan of the two bonus points for a complete wall. It magnifies the discrepancy in difficulty levels of the walls, and more importantly it often kills off the quiz as a contest.

I agree our wall was slightly easier - we'd have solved their wall by default, but I wouldn't have been sure of ther link on the Just William 4.
I was surprised that they didn't get the owl and pussycat question.

Yes, I also knew a bunch who tried to get me to join the cult. There's something wrong with people who need to be told how intelligent they are.

Actually, the captain of the Mensa team seemed annoyingly familiar. Either he has been on other quiz shows or I may have come across him in real life. I've just got a terrible memory for people.

Yes, every 8.30pm on Mondays (i.e. the slot to switch over to after University Challenge finishes).

You can find all the episodes you've missed from this series on iPlayer - it's got Series Catch-up enabled.

Did you notice how she let her guard down for a second last week when the guy had a complete stab at the music question saying they were all "maybe" based on novels? I'd have given them points for making her laugh like that. :D

I was wondering the same thing as well. Strange to do such a short series, I thought, when it's fourth in BBC4's ratings.

 at some of tonight's questions, but...

I missed the mathematicians first round match as I was on hoilday. Who were their opponents - Baldrick, Alice Tinker, Trigger and Homer Simpson?:D

I was thinking about that strange and lucky coincidence, as this very Sunday while I was washing the car, there was someone hooning about the sky a far way off. I eventually managed to catch sight of the distant 'plane as he looped around, and he/she did the exact manoeuvre as described by the Alesman. I didn't know what it was called however so it was useless to me but still a strange coincidence.

All of the above however is rendered pointless as the move I saw and as was described on the show was not the thingy Cobra, but was the "hammerhead stall turn" after googling.
The cobra move is that thing that Sukhois and Raptors do where they can rotate the nose up in the middle of a dogfight, or at an airshow as they fly a horizontal path but with the whole plane pointing up.

I also knew the "pop song based on classical themes" one from the first clue (I love "Rach#2") but could only claim 3 pts off my kiRAB cos by the time I'd explained it to them, the team had already asked for the second clip!
