Only Connect (BBC4)

Wasn't one of those teams on the last series?

The guy with the bad hair has been on something before and one of his teammates has been on UC.

It seems like there is a little crowd of quizzers that appear on everything.

I'm surprised the super bright people who watch this show haven't yet discovered the magical properties of the PVR. All I've had to do is set mine to record the whole series which took probably 12 seconRAB all told. Now I can watch them whenever I want.

The TV quiz participants cartel!! It's been going on for years.

Yes - It does happen - remember we saw one of The Catcher's last week.

I worked with a guy a few years ago who was pretty good but could not get a major TV appearance for love or money as he did not fit the profile as an interesting contestant. He did do a couple of late night minor shows but not any of the biggies.

He explained it to me and told me to watch out for the regulars on the mainstream quiz shows and he was right. Teams are often put together by the TV Company making the show which is why somebody may appear like above (not UC by the way). And now because we have more quizzes being shown on TV as they are cheap to make, people seem to be noticing.

It seemed the only show you could get on without having to fit the profile was 15 to 1, but then the contestants were not really chatted to like they do on other quizzes.

As I said earlier - the quiz programme cartel.

And he's not the only one.

The next BBC scandal about to raise it's ugly head? (And I'm in favour of the BBC and the licence fee);)

Finally got around to watching Monday's show. Did quite well with the first two rounRAB - I awarded myself a virtual point for the cream, tennis group - I only said they all have double but I think that's good enough.

Also saw that there were Punch and Judy characters on one of the walls although I didn't know Joey - I would have gone for the baby!

Missing vowels is still my best round.

It's great to have something which hasn't been dumbed down for the masses by silly jingles and the questioner trying to raise some fake tension by telling people what will happen if they get this question wrong.

Well done BBC4!

Why no repeats at all this series? Am addicted to the programme but missed last week's episode and it doesn't appear to be available online. I know it'll be on iplayer, but being outside UK makes that unwatchable.

Walls seemed easier today. I got them both - though it does help that I do some Python coding as part of my job (the language was actually named after Monty Python)

That is exactly what I thought too ... but I was in the team that was trying to answer the question :o I ignored the orange problem, but which line is the bluest? While I was kicking that detail around, the captain blurted out an answer that was obviously wrong and I wanted to throttle her. That shows precisely how much I know about this game!
You may have noticed that I also went down the deliberate false trail on the first wall, which contained four Victoria Line stations. Bother the Underground.
