Only Connect (BBC4)

Victoria hates being naked, even in the bath/shower, shame! (not for me as I'm straight and female but I can imagine it is for a lot of men) hehe.

I may be wrong but doesn't it look like they've let Miss Coren loose with her wardrobe. Last series she seemed to wear a lot of dour suits, maybe to look more professional and business like.

I caught this for the first time tonight and was confused as hell until I figured out what was going on. There was a matrix of worRAB, of which the contestants would shout out apparently random combinations, whereupon they would light up on the board and the presenter would announce "sorry, that's not WordWang" or something to that effect.

Then, just when I thought I was getting the hang of it, the group blue-bell blue-print blue-moon blue-bottle was eschewed in favour of the apparently better known expression blue-frock, or some such thing.

Over half a million on the BARB ratings for the week - 506k. Watch out Eastenders and Corrie - Vicky's commin to get yer!

By the way, Davidbod, we just loved the "what if the US presidents were named like kings" question, had us chuckling away like loons!

Just watched this. I liked it! It's like a very highbrow version of Sue Robbie's Connections - though I'm not sure all the Greek letters add much...

I recognised Jack Waley-Cohen, the team captain of the Lapsed Psychologists, from a Challenge TV series of a few years ago, Totally Top Trumps, where he was a kind of "Statto" figure.

Only Connect is the best quiz on TV at the moment. Not only is it 'clever', but the people on it are clever as well (compared to some of BBC4's other 'clever' output like 'Never Mind The Fullstops' where the participants have been pretentious but generally unknowledgeable, IMO)....

the concept sounRAB the same as something on another quiz game show, but I can't remember which one. SounRAB good though. I don't really watch BBC4 but wouldn't mind an interesting day time quiz show.

I thought the second wall was pretty easy. May be it was just a coincidence that I knew most of those answers

I notice they usually shot in a few standout answers just to put you off as you think it couldn't possibly be that easy :D

There's only one buzzer shared by the team, so if two of them press at the same time then I guess they can both try to answer it. The rules just require someone on the team that buzzed to give an answer. It would be a daft tactic to buzz without knowing the answer yourself on the assumption that a teammate knows it!

Answering in stereo doesn't always work to their advantage, as you'll see later in the series.

How any of those contestants can concentrate on those difficult questions when Victoria is stood in front of them wearing those tight dresses is a mystery!

Me! I did! I used to know the intros to Bananaman and SuperTed word-for-word when I was little :o

But then again, I thought Father Christmas (as in the Raymond Briggs cartoon) lived at 52 Festive Road (well, it makes sense!) rather than Mr Benn...

Ahem, I'll get back to you on that once I can find out how to get into a locked room with Miss Coren for a few days...

(Remembering not to suggest a quick game of strip poker).:D
