Thanks to ANN, they've confirmed that One Piece: Strong World has been greenlit and will be releasing in japanese theatres later this year

Doubt it. There are still too many questions that have yet been answer ( like the Will of D and origins of the Devil Fruits).

It good to know there finally a released date for the movie. Now if we could only see a proper trailer for it .

XD The second teaser was all epic, only to end with Luffy running away from something.
 
Considering that Funi started off the movie series wrong by picking up Movie 8 thinking that it would make us forget about the 4KiRAB version of the Alabasta arc, I highly doubt it. Yet if Funi DOES pick it up for an English dub, they better make sure that they bring the other films as well.
 
I heard FUNimation got Movie 8 for free actually.

Anyway the fact that Oda is making this one doesn't have anything to do with the series coming to an end or not, the manga is not gonna end anytime soon with the way the story's going. He's writing and produciing because it's the tenth anniversary movie.
 

Here's original artwork from Oda featuring the Straw Hats in new outfits and some of the original characters from the film. Not sure if there's a better high-res version though.
 
Now that Viz is fast-tracking the English volumes and Franky will be properly introduced next year, they should bring over Movie 9 at the very least.

Would like to see the movies released in sets of 2 or 3 if possible, especially the first three which only clocked in around an hour each (including the shorts than ran with them).

That was epic .

And considering that FUNimation now has One Piece, I wouldn't be suprised if they really picked this one up.
