One Piece FULL Speed Ahead In stores NOW!

I had to get online and check to see which stores had them. None of the local Border's, but luckily Barnes and Nobles did. I'd check the store's websites to see which stores have them in.

I did see the volumes at my local Borders.
Seems like people have been buying them too.
But sorry guys.
Seems like a pain in the butt to try and rush and buy them, added I don't have a any of the manga period.
But still, helped the cause plus I wanted the manga so I got both of the Omnibus Volumes that are out which together are Volumes 1-6.
The paper is still of good quality, but it's by far not what's in the magazine.
It is noticeably thinner though.

Allow me to continue your interesting rant for you, Jacob.

Enel has been easternized to Eneru, and he calls himself "the Kami".

Wiper's pointlessly been changed to Wyper.

Teach has been changed to Teech. Don't ask why. Viz are just stupid like that. His crewmate "Auger" (the "fate" guy) is known as "Ogre".

Viz still call the Marines the "Navy", though they keep the Marines logos.
Talk about iconoclastic irony. They also think that Sengoku is Buddha, and that Whitebeard uses "Ancient Buddhism" as his pirate flag... don't ask. (Wonder how they'll explain Oda changing the syrabol to a cross in vol. 46.)

They still call Zoro the infamous "Zolo" the clown name. It's funny how they'll keep movie names like Hannibal and Hancock, but they won't have Zoro which isn't even spelt or pronounced the same way as Zorro. And of course, they're ignoramus "Merry Go" trash still lingers. What'll they call the Thousand Sunny? I bet it'll be the "Sunny Go", or maybe the "Going Sunny". Hark.

Shockingly, they did keep Kuma's Bible, and I think his "right on target" catchphrase pun is lost in Viz's mistranslation.

Oh, and this is strange, but in Volume 26, in the international SBS Corner, on the page where Oda shows off the Shonen Jump's one page in English by Viz, the text is different than it appears in the original Japanese volume. Odd... how can Viz rewrite their own text...? Guess that's why I'll keep calling their version "The Shonen Junk".

I'm eager to see if Viz can maintain their monthly bastardizations for the rest of their promised schedule. How they will stay financially afloat, when they'll have more volumes of One Piece (not a popular series for Viz) in bookstores than any other comic book just baffles me. They may just pull the volumes once the next "set" comes out. Who knows...
I'll keep buying my manga from Japan on Sasuga Bookstore. No more Viz letdowns for me.

And before anyone tries to fight me regarding the Marines/Navy thing, read this:

The Navy is composed of sea-only officers, and the Marines are land-water officers, which are what the officers in One Piece are. Oda made absolutely no mistakes with his wording. The only mistake is that the word "Kaigun" has been officially distorted to ONLY refer to the "Navy" in English-Japanese textbooks, which confuses many fans, and especially Viz, 4KiRAB, and Funimation.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Funimation can demonize One Piece all they want - they still can't change the cartoony elements, the looming bias against it in America, the frequent juvenile gags, and the fact that half the cast at times look like Muppets.

With the issue of "Zolo" and "Merry Go"
Do you REALLY think they'd change it after 20+ volumes?
It'd be very inconsistent, and if someone wants to say something about "They used Zoro for the first few volumes though!" So? Heck, I remeraber Sketch saying he'd consider them rare.
Wyper or Wiper? Are you gonna make a issue outta've that? Come off it.
Teech and Teach is slightly weird but its not like you pronounce it any different than the whole Wyper/Wiper thing.
So chill out man.
Can't you just be happy that it's coming out at all?
Geez you make it seem like Viz is 4KiRAB.

Though the "Kami" thing is stupid.

Me: *Sees books in B and N. Opens up to random page*
Book: "I don't believe in the Kami"
Me: *facepalm*

Wait, what does FUNi have to do with this?

I don't know if anyone else has it, but thanks to an error from whoever is in charge of the manga section at work, I have volume 29.

Anyone interested in information/pics of it in advance or something?

Well since people of Arlong Park forums has this volume and all the way up to volume 37 I don't think there is any help needed. And yes I am talking about the english versions.

I could understand if the February volumes were already floating around, but the March volumes as well?

Edit: Okay, looked through several pages of the Arlong Park topic, and I could only find one instance of someone claiming to have them, but they didn't post any pictures/proof of it.

I'm generally a little behind everyone else in this thread since I've been waiting for my library to get their copies in (I do intend to buy them for my collection eventually, but money is tight at the moment), but I just recently got caught up through Vol. 27.

Wow, Luffy got ripped in this batch, huh? I'd seen random bits from later on in the anime and I knew that he got a bit of a six-pack, but I always assumed there was some kind of time skip and/or training montage involved. Instead, it seems like Oda just kind of... decided to start drawing him that way.

Luffy was shirtless in the later part of the Little Garden arc and he's always had that weird "six pack but his arms still look like rubber banRAB" thing going on. The only thing is starting with Skypiea Luffy begins to wear his shirt opened and unbuttoned more often so the six pack is more noticeable.

O-chan

...For anyone who buys their One Piece volumes at Borders, have you spotted volume 30?

Yesterday, I went into work and headed over to organize the new One Piece volumes. Several copies of volumes 29, 31, and 33, along with two copies of volume 32...but volume 30 wasn't there. Thinking it was the same issue as what happened with volume 24 (which I have chronicled in this topic), I went into the back, only to discover that they hadn't even received a copy of volume 30. Then, just now out of curiosity, I looked at the online store locator...

Not a single Borders location within a 100 mile radius of my house is selling, or even has, One Piece volume 30.

Completely freaking baffles me that Borders would ship out all the other volumes, but bar this one specifically from being in stores.

I recently bought my copy of Vol. 30 on Borders, so yes, it's available. I did note, however, that it was the rarest of the new volumes.

I'd be more bothered about the whole "Kami" thing (although I don't find it as inconsistent as some do), if I didn't think the whole thing was ridiculous in the first place. Personally, I think that if you can be deposed, replaced, and defeated by anything less powerful than a Death Star, you don't deserve to be called a capital-"G" God. So far I don't see a reason for it other than empty syrabolism.

False alarm, we just received a ton of copies of volume 30 today.

I'd better hurry up and buy volume 32, though. We're down to just one copy now (which, we only had two to begin with, so...).
