Went in for the one month visit since the revision. The incision looks good. They had to take out 4 of the dissolving stitches that had managed to poke there way through. No explanation for the intense itching I have going on across the entire low back and into the butt cheeks. They told me to try Benedryl cream. I brought the mark from the TED socks to their attention, and I was politely yelled at! I should have told them right away about that, and my response was that everyone was told in the hospital. It has been 4 weeks and the mark is still there, all around my calf and there are parts of it that are really sore. I can drive in 2 more weeks-----yyiippeeeeeee!!!! Dr. also told me that I was suppose to stop the Celebrex 2 weeks after the surgery, and was to have started the bone stimulator 2 weeks after the surgery. I told them that they should have stated that in the discharge instructions, and that this was the first I had heard of these instructions. Next appointment is in 3 months and they will take x rays then.
I can honestly say that I don't feel any different than I did before this surgery. The nerve problem in my left leg is worse, and it is permanent. I now have started the same in my right leg. I am trying to stay positive and remind myself that it has only been 4 weeks---it takes time.
I walk as much as I can around the house and even walk outside as much as I can every day. I can only do stairs once per day----there are 21 stairs to and from our apartment.
I haven't been on too much, but have been in the background. Laptop is up and running, so now I can come on more often.
My daughter is bringing over 4 of my Grand babies tomorrow. Seems like I haven't seen them in ages. The baby is now 8 months old and crawls like crazy. Can't wait to see them.
Hope everyone has a good day and a better tomorrow!!!
Hugs and prayers to everyone.
