okay so i just bought some new subs and i wanna know whats wrong? it really wierd to me?

i upgraded my subs, and they sound amazing when i installed them BEFORE they entered the enclosure. as soon as i put the subs into the enclosure they dont thump as hard as they did outside the enclosure. i even tried to do it with my old subs and it had the same issue. so basically, the subs work fine but once i screw them into the enclosure they dont thump as hard. HOPE YOU CAN HELP ME!
 
have you tried turning them around?

they work better backwards, the direction of sound travel, or increase the size of the ports in you sub box
