OK, so i know the drop out/ failure rate for boot camp in the NAVY is about 2% so i

hear? Im wondering what happens to those 2% that dont make it, do they get a dishonorable discharge or something of another sort.
 
Actually the attrition rate for Navy basic is around 13%

You just get sent back home and are a civilian again.

In alot of cases, after 6 months you can try again.

Most people who do not make it thru basic, do so because of pre existing medical conditions

The next reason is injuries that occurr in basic.
 
No, recruits who can't make it through basic will get an Entry Level Separation, which just means that they can't rejoin for 6 months to 2 years.
 
It depends. Medical discharge out of bootcamp is not unusual. But if you do some shiatty thing like punch your RDC, yeah, dishonorable discharge is prolly in the cards for you.
