Ok, how bout this amp+sub combo?

Kicker L5 12" 4ohm DVC + Sony XM-GTR6001 mono +
sub wired in parallel + Big ported box tuned to 35hz = ???
well that sounds great chris all except for the fact that I already have the amp and sub, I thought my sub was 2ohm DVC but its 4ohm!!! so ...... how should i limit it?
 
That sub is rated at 600 watts RMS. That amp is rated at 900 watts RMS into a 2-ohm load. Way over powered. Why not get the dual 2-ohm coils, wire them in series for a 4-ohm load, then you are set; that amp is rated at 600 watts RMS @ 4-ohms. Or get an amp rated at 600 watts RMS x 1 @ 2-ohms.
 
I would just try to run the sub off love, who needs an amp let love show you the way.
 
you need to know the wattage of both amp and subs. amp needs to supply enough power for the sub to operate normally.
