*OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia N97

Hmmmm...it wasn't under construction a lil while back. It didn't have much on it but it was a site focused on the N97 and the N86 8MP. Wonder what they're building

Yea, i have my location. I find it's a random problem though, sometimes it work, sometimes it doesn't. Like I mentionned earlier, I have no problem with any other online application and can browse the web perfectly. I went to location and it has my Wifi as priority 1 and my 3G as priority 2 (I didn't even add them there, lol, the phone was smart enough :) )

There are plenty of reasons to own a N97 and they've already been mentioned. It has its fair share of dissapointments and requires certain comprises but the same can be said for the phones that you keep trumpeting.

Not everyone has such a blatant disregard for some of the things you don't care about.

Ahh yes... if life was that beautiful... lol. I'd probably stay with that phone for a good 4-5 years, imagine, 64GB of storage with top of the line processor and memory? hehe, but since we can't change the hardware, then maybe...

This is indeed a very interesting question. Me too I heard, if i'm not mistaken, the N97 can be clocked to around 530 Mhz, but somehow Nokia kept it to 434... Logically speaking then, it should be able to clock it to a higher speed, but you might also look up the reason why Nokia did not choose to push it to 530 Mhz... there's probably a good reason for it, don't you think, lol

That's awesome. A little detective work found me a screenshot (though not the same device).

Yes I think for N97 apps. Like it or not, except for a small group of folks, Nokia is in direct competition with the Iphone (no offense to Bruha and the Omnia)...and Apple's app store is a phenom IMO. It is what drives sales of the Iphone..just look at their advertising..ask people who own the Iphone-its all about apps. I really hope Nokia can do something with OVI-I think they recognize its a make or break thing for their desire to continue any success in high end handsets.

And speaking of that..thanks to Nokia for competing-I have a feeling they could give up on the high end stuff and be just as (if not more so) with low to mid price range devices

This is an excerpt from the email he sent me:

"I placed my pre order on May 4th....they did the credit hold for two days then. So now I got an email and called them and they confirmed it."

He had placed the order through NokiaUSA.

No its not ok. First time i applied a el cheapo screen guard covering all sensor. My screen used to turn off as soon as i received a call making it impossible to see who is calling. Unless n97 have very different proximity sensors you shouldn't cover it with anything.

Interresting enough, I spoke with a SN Traders customer service agent about the N97, regarding their release date and price since NokiaUSA.com has already published their pre-order price, this is the answer I got:

Naveed Qureshi:
We will get it before they do. But again not sure abt the date. And price will be better than 699 usd. Best Regards

Huh, what are you guys talking about? There is CTRL + C on the E71-2. I just used it. You do have to push the grey key first though so its one extra button but CTRL C and V both work.

+1 x 10.

i think i posted about this in another thread, half-facetiously. my prediction for the N97i or N97s:

- capacitive screen
- 800mhz processor
- double the ram
- minimum 8MP camera
- HD video
- bigger screen
- better keyboard
- an upgraded interface after seeing what Samsung and Sony have done (and will do) with S60v5. (the Sony Satio, in particular, is pretty amazing. never would guess it was s60.)

by xmas 2009.

early adopters: all i have to say is "hope you enjoy the phone, and thanks for the reviews, people!"

just waiting for the "Official N97 Bugs Thread" to start, lol.
