*OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia N97

I too found X1's design very pleasing and comfortable to hold. Hated the reception though. My 5800 has such a better reception that it makes x1 feel like a triband phone in a poor reception area.

The display units in NYC flagship are production. I can concur with the initial impression of the keyboard. I was shocked that the company that made the E71 Keyboard made this keyboard.

However I did feel like some other display models had a VERY slightly improved travel and feel (but still quite pathetic), so I wonder if a manufacturing glitch has made it worse than it should be.

The worst case of 5800 build quality was a person on here who had an invisibleshield on the screen. He tried to pull it off and took the screen off the phone itself. :disappoin

I didn't mean to imply that those were upgrades but it was a list of improvements from the venerable N95-4. And I will be checking out the OmniaHD thread but it's almost all one can do to keep up with this thread. ;)

I certainly hope the OmniaHD is faster than the N95. In terms of daily use the N95 is pretty slow compared to even my E71. I expect the HD to run circles around the N95 for the processing power it's packing. But I don't know how that will compare to the N97 in terms of daily use.

Believe me, if there's one thing that's been lacking in my use of S60 it was processing power. I don't have the experience with as many products at you Jonny but they always felt slow to me with the exception of the E71. I would totally welcome an OMAP3 powered N-series (actually E-series please) and I have a feeling that is coming sooner than we think. As it is I'm going to be forced to get a new tablet since we know for sure I can get my OMAP3 fix there.

I think it would be awesome if that happened. Wasnt there a fiasco with the 5800 and E75 available at stores prior to preorders shipping? I thought I remember seeing something like that floating around on these boards.

I am really looking forward to getting this device, it would be so great if, as discussed prior, Nokia would just publicly release a date.

I'm down to 23MB. Maps 3.0 ate up a bunch and I think NM is not good either..not sure what to do about that. But other than that I can't tell what's eating up the C:...I have no messages other than a few texts..

Yes, it's specifically designed for my phone. All my pants have a front left pocket which is perfect for holding any phone that I own. I've seen a lot of other people wearing these pants with front left pockets too so they must be big sellers. :hehehe:

Yes I probably meant designated LOL

LMAO @ loincloth with a pouch!

Yeah, we were talking about it in the N97 CANADA Availability thread. They are still sticking by their $550 USD price for the NAM. Nav from SN Traders sent out an email saying they have 100 units on order (50 white, 50 black) of the NAM but they aren't taking preorders yet because they haven't received the invoice yet. He went on to say that the price of the EURO is so high because of "limited availability" but they've already paid for the NAM units so the price should stay the same.

There's the page they got for the NAM

You may need to call them just to verify your order. See the US Availability thread for the problems people have had and the number to call. I think they lost some info when they had that database reset.

Are you kidding me? We pay for everything in this world that is stolen. Prices are raised in the long run to cover the money they didnt make on those stolen goods.

Maybe if no one stole software, each app would cost $1.99 instead of $4.99, but they need to make back that money.

Open a store and let 30% of you merchandise get stolen and lets see you reaction.

People can buy a phone for $600+ but they cry over $5 for software.

I think Nokia eliminates a lot of piracy because you need to get software signed and or certified.

Banks dont go out of business because of the FDIC when money is stolen. You dont think in the end we are the ones who end up covering it?
