I guess it's not a big deal not to have 3D acceleration since my unaccelerated E71 plays nGage perfectly!

However according to the official N97 videos, there are lots and lots of UI transitions and animations that suggest some kind of acceleration (not just audio) but on other real-life videos there are simply no UI transitions or animation at all. I want to think that's because they are pre-prod units?

Yeah I don't think I'll enjoy using the music player much on this after i've filled the 32gb with music because of how unfriendly the scroll method is :doh: and I don't want to have to use 2 hands just to pick a song.
 
Very cleaver Nokia, for $800 you get a 434 processor and 128 MB of RAM, for $100 less you have 600mhz processor, hw accelerated graphics, HSUPA, AMOLED screen and 8MP camera with the Omnia HD, or even with $500 less you got a 600mhz processor and also HSUPA (not present in N97) with the 5630 XpressMusic...This is what I call a job well done...

Will wait for the Samsung or the next E series flagship.

All i know is i remember when the cpu spec was finally released people were let down everywhere and it was talked about how it sucks. But then they accepted it and moved on to deciding whether they still want the phone or not. I don't really see any crazy talk about how the better cpu wouldn't be good. But its still a good enough phone for people to want to buy it. I'm not following what the issue is with this.
 
I've been packing a lunch for well over a year now. Not because of the N97 (The price is not a factor to me even if its $1500, that's still less than 2 weeks pay) but just because it's good sense
 
I really don't understand this crusade that's going on here. Sure all should know the shortcomings of this phone like any other device before spending this much money, but i'm sure most of us here who are reading this forum know about them and i'm sure all know it now after 40 pages of nothing else. Buying phone, just like a car isn't always very rational. ;)

Would be just nice to actually get some previews, videos and what not about this device before it gets released in June.
 
LOL, last night I took a look at the countdown timer and thought about staying up to see what they announced live but decided that I should go to sleep. I woke up this morning and I was flipping my phone over frantically trying to put my alarm on snooze, forgetting that one of the last things I did before I went to bed was remove the MicroSD card in my phone to put some music on it (thus closing all my background apps). I said whatever, I'll just wake up then it clicked in....Nokia did something a couple hours ago. Went right to Engadget and said "I WANTS".
 
Nokia does support Exchange via MfE or third-party software RoadSync (and others, I think).

FWIW, I have never worked at a company which used Microsoft Exchange Server. Never. It probably helps that I spent a good portion of my career at Sun Microsystems and another good chunk of my career running the mail servers on my own network. But I prefer Postfix and Courier over Exchange any day of the week. As usual I am probably going to be told that I don't know what I'm talking about, but I have gotten bonuses and raises at my job for helping my company avoid the highway robbery that is called Microsoft Windows Server.
 
I'm ashamed to say I'm acting like a mobile crack addict today. I've got a separate Firefox window open with IntoMobile's live WWDC updates next to my main browser with HoFo, AAS, new YouTube videos of the i8910, and a few other blogging sites.

Edit: And! The Chicago flagship store just called me to tell me they have the N97 in for sale tomorrow and they'll hold it tomorrow for people on the list. Cool.
