Interesting..I just called my cc company..even tho I made only one order..there are 2 authorization requests from Nokia for slightly different amounts..order still shows backordered however
 
Sorry if this has been said, because I'm still reading yesterday's posts. But you guys are missing the point about the widgets taking up too much space, etc. Do you realize that you can access the full API of the phone via widgets now? And that widgets are simply .zip files that can be opened, modified, and re-packaged easily? If you don't like the weather widget taking up so much room, write your own widget that displays the weather, stock price of Google, and some other small thing, all in the space of one widget. If you don't like the app launcher only showing 4 apps, write your own that shows 8 at a smaller resolution. It's EASY to do.

Talking about the widgets is rather pointless, because you are not stuck with the ones that come with the phone. People write better, more functional ones, because it's easy to write them.

I'm not a 'hater', per se. I love Symbian, I just hate what Nokia's done to it. However, I'd take the Touch Pro 2 any day over the N97. The camera isn't as good, but the keyboard... Nokia needs to hire the HTC designers to work on their keyboards. Between the N97 (whoever placed the space and shift keys should be fired) and the Mako, Nokia is regressing in physical keyboard design.
 
There currently is no Blackberry Connect that can be used with the N97. The built in mail client on the N97 will support direct connection to POP/IMAP accounts as well as Nokia's push email system using Intellisync which provides push services on POP/IMAP mail accounts. It will also support Active Sync with Mail for Exchange support built in as well. If your company uses BES there will be no support for you on the N97 unless your company also supports an Active Sync option for mail sync.
 
I'm looking forward to the release of the N97.

I'm using an E71-2 that is a breath of fresh air compared to the very complicated, buggy and quirky performance of the Sony Ericsson Xperia, and I wonder if Nokia is going to be able to get a larger, more expensive N97 to work as nicely as the E71 without introducing the issues the Xperia introduced to those of us who use our portable devices heavily.
 
yea really considering to get this phone even with that crazy price tag, but i want to get the NAM version... anyone know if the n97 will have a NAM version? read somewhere it might not even reach North America cause of the dropping in sales(from 15% to 8%) and having few to no contracts with service providers...
 
As long as there are 12 useful widgets, I'm good. You get 2 pages of widgets, with 6 per page. Actually, I'm not even sure if it's only limited to 2
 
I think screenplay is slowly coming to fruition. There is already a PyS60 app that allows for RSS Feeds (SMS/Email/Calendar plugin support) to scroll across the home screen. Also with Widgets its seemingly allowing the homescreen to be fully customizable per user; very similar to Screenplay in Symbian OS 9.5

No I haven't, but I would be interested to see...I wouldn't be 2 surprised to see people in my age group (50's) playing and enjoying games, but not on a 3.5" screen
