*OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia N97

I thought the screen was glossy plastic? Unless they changed it in the one you used none of the builds have had a glass screen so far. If they did, that's good news, though i really doubt that considering it is a pressure sensitive screen and that tends to not work well with hard glass.

You leave me with some hope for the phone's performance though. I really wonder why nokia's being so quiet about the processor though.

It's not all positive but he didn't notice anything horrible about the phone. Truth be told, it would probably have to burst into flames when you make a call to stop me from getting it at this point.

i noticed that there was kinetic scrolling in ovi store as well; maybe all wrt will utilize kinetic scrolling. it looked the same as the ovi store app i have on my 5800. i'm guessing that those n97 with ovi store pre-installed have a special version. no reason that it wouldn't work that way on the 5800, hopefully they release that version of ovi store for all s60v5 owners...

No way..the press release is dated June 2nd but it says to ship in June. To me that could mean the 30th as well...The "official" release back when said 2nd qtr 2009, and technically June 30 is 2nd qtr

True. So if you are just looking for a N95 with missing features that it doesn't have then thats fine, but then they would always be playing catchup.

And who the h**l are you? I'm thinking you're either a) Not serious, b) had a few too many, or c) the moron that your post indicates you are. Go back to the hole you crawled out of. Before you go, take a look at the # of posts Bruha has made compared to you...have a little respect for cryin out loud...jeez

Nothing wrong with asking for it. Do you think the attitude that having pages of widgets available is a basic entitlement or the entire thing is crap is any more valid than rejecting such criticism out hand?

Expecting it at launch is even less realistic. Let them get the whole thing working and optimized with 5 before breaking out the pitchforks and demanding that they add more.

Nothing at all. When criticsm turns into a crusading rant with no objective other than to seemingly antagonize and beat the dead horse into glue... that's when it's passed usefulness. Not accusing you of that, though. Just sayin'

Not at all unreasonable.

$510 shipped overnight with a BH-703 is way too good to pass up in any case and I hope it goes through. :D $750 shipped 3-day with the same headset isn't exactly criminal considering the prices of the competition without subsidy and the feature set available for the newest toy on the block.

Any positive feedback from this Mobile City Online? I'm about to pre-order one too (I'm from Montreal). Will there be tax/duty since it comes from the US? Also, is it confirmed that the NAM N97 will be shipped in June also? I won't pre-order it if it is released later than July.

Thats cool..but you know what? the fact that Nokia removed the ability to make an internet call on this S60v5 just really chaffes my a**s. I'm not sure its due to their agreement with Skype or not, but I use my N95 to make frequent voip calls using the sip stack on voipcheap and I think its gonna suck not being able to do that on this new so called "flagship"...but each to his own

Change that to

He ordered and got taxed after he clicked submit or something like that so the price changed a bit. It has nothing to do with the Dell orders or the orders from Nokia yesterday/today, this was when the phone first came out for North America.
