Nokia is only cut funds from Share on Ovi, not Ovi as a whole. Many people for some reason get confuse on that. Plus Ovi Share is different from Share Online application on your phones.
They invest tones of money to Ovi Store. Unless you do not care for applications then Ovi Store is worthless to you, but for many people applications are all they want from their mobile device. Not only that Ovi Store will be available from day one on the N97 with 20,000+ content and more that 1000 applications. Again this is only on day one.
Yes Samsung is already offering a App store but it has a completely different approach/strategy than the Ovi Store.
Finally is not known yet if Ovi Store will limit to Nokia phones or be available in other Symbian non-Nokia devices in the near future.
If Ovi Store became the dominant design to Symbian Apps then most likely Nokia and its other Symbian panthers, including Samsung, will create some kind of a deal to integrate Ovi Store in other devices.
Until then I really bet that all Omnia HD owners who care about apps they will look for a way to install/access Ovi Store on Omnia HD. In other words is not going to take a while until we see a thread here in HoFo titled something like: "How to install Ovi Store on Omnia HD" :hehehe:
