*OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia N97

If the chrome is the same as on the buttons on the N95 it will rub off with time. Took a little over a year and now after 2 years all I can see is green & red on those 2 buttons

great... now you either get Yellowing or Fingerprints... hmmm
Yellowing appears just after a couple of months, but pretty much stays on
Fingerprints are really easy to clean...but there since day 1

My N97 just arrived via FedEx. First impression? Its actually not as big as it appeared in photos and its something I can live with assuming all else is well. Keyboard? I just unboxed it but inital impressions of it are good. Its actually smaller than I thought it was. Working on a few pics for you guys.

Holy crap! That's either some prototype black magic that will never translate to real life, or if we're really lucky, that is a device which is as responsive as the E71.

:faint:

i was worried about transitions. that was my main gripe when i heard about the processor and graphics problem. i just want the phone to run smoothly.

form factor is a biggie ( its big but not too big of a smartphone), qwerty , easy transition for me to move my apps from n96 ( very similar in terms of memory etc) , just the overall fact your owning the flapship of Nokias ( you've got the best of the best)

To be fair, look i m a businessman and I need as much organization and power and performance in my choice of cell phone. I know that nokia can deliver the best combination of PDA and call quality and features for my needs.

I suggest you write a nice letter to one of the VPs at Nokia USA, not an email but an actual letter. Regular post has a much better chance of getting your thoughts through to the top.

Wow, what a huge thread. I have read bits and pieces over the last several months, but hadnt realized it had grown like this! Anyone have any good info on Exchange support on the N97? I had an E75 for a day and could not get its version of M4E to work with my Exchange server. I have sucessfully used my E51 and E90 in the past with it, but for some reason the version in the E75 didnt work. I am hoping the N97 might be the answer. I am without a S60 device at the time.

I actually brought all of my unlocked phones online as well, even though I live in NY. I work like 3 blocks from the Flagship store, so I may just walk over and buy this one when it comes out. I just hate paying tax though.

Nikon makes cameras, it's a little easier to hide a camera than a phone. Especially when there are 348327493275894535 blogs and websites about the phones your company makes

So I guess we're just supposed to take your word for it that it sucks even though you provide absolutely no reasoning on why? Riiiiiiiiiiiggghhttt. What happened? Couldn't grasp the concept of a spacebar not being in the middle of the keyboard?

I try not to make it a serious habit of being in there too much otherwise I'd buy a new phone every week. I've made a promise not to buy a new phone until the N97 then we'll see what's coming in 2H 2009. Doesn't Nokia have some other goodies in store for us this year according to their roadmap? We should be seeing the 'Corolla' this week actually.
