*OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia N97

I'm hard resetting mine at the moment. It's been laggy unless I'm not doing things right. Still getting used to S60 platform. I'll be sure to get some more apps on this thing. Is the Handyman toolbar free?

Well that really sucks... :disappoin I would have expected that if they kept 128MB RAM they would have implemented a way to optimize how the phone used it, I'll be doing a lot of testing about this when I receive mine.

So many posts so I'm not sure if this has been answered..but my research shows that there are SIP settings but no internet telephone capability to use them with services like voipcheap, gizmo, etc...sux big time huh

I think this was done to address quality issues and make the phone feel more solid. Currently the N95 I have with it's sliding door feels very cheap, the door is loose and creaky. This should make the N97 feel that much more solid. And it's not something you would take off often unless you change your SIM or pull your mem card often. But I agree, some users may be worried about breaking something while trying to remove it until they get used to it.

Oh boy! Now I can get the 5800 XpressMusic as a backup phone since Rogers is going to start carrying it soon according to BGR and I need to sign a new contract shortly.

/sarcasm

Nice to see Rogers still showing love to Nokia (they don't force as much Rogers stuff onto the phone as AT&T but I believe they lock out more of the settings)

Agree with you, this device could be great for emulating games. I bought a DS Lite last year and end up playing more NES games than DS games. With 32gb, i can put the entire NES, GBA and many SNES games on it. However, i hear the d-pas is very flat, so we won't get optimal experience.

i really need to see if the touchscreen is good for the n97 like anything near the samsung eternity and i will buy it! really really dissapointed by apple. anyway does anyone have reviews where it TALKS about the touchscreen?

Something else about the widgets; can u add two of the same thing? For example, I want more than 4 favorites, can I add two favorite contacts widgets? I want both my email accounts on the homescreen; so can I add two email widgets? I don't really care for all that myspace stuff. Also, I listen to music/podcasts every once in a while, and when I do I would like to have the music player on the homescreen; but when I'm not listening do I have to have the widget on the homescreen? I like the way it is right now on my E71.

I had two N95. It was a really good phone. But I can't compare the Camera quality of N95 with Sony Ericsson phones,my K790i takes far better picture than the N95. You don't have to go for the C905,it's the best 8MP available in the market till now.
If you want a good phone with overall performance NOKIA is the option to go,but if Camera and Sound is the issue then Sony Ericsson is way to go.

Than how about telling us why your so exited? instead of padding your post count. apperently what is quite indicative of your past posts is that you want a phone to dial and recieve calls, text , and visit wap sites. if that is all than the n97 might be perfect for you, apart from its price :buddies:

There's *no* excuse for that flat cable to be exposed. The one that has to move due to the display, I can semi-comprehend but they could have just use a spring-loaded roller 'flex' cable instead of having it dangle (like a tape measure). I can't ever see that getting ripped out unless somebody specifically tried to get it tangled in something.

I'm ridiculously happy that they got rid of the orange keyboard colors.
