LOL. So you're telling me the Qualcomm chipset (the same thats in the Diamond Pro, and very similar to whats in the Touch HD by HTC) is NOT capable of Multimedia? You have a RIM Bold right? What HalfVGA video recording at 30fps on such a nice HVGA screen with Triband HSDPA with 3.5mm headset jack NOT good enough for you? Hmm; All of that is pretty close to industry device standard right now. Not to mention the 3.2MP AF camara on the Storm/8900 Curve. Again its the SW that is holding YOU back; not the hardware! RIM in the Bold, Storm, and Curve 8900 is the first REAL attempt at multimedia for consumer devices while the PC desktop software released last year was the first for software for the PC - besides iTunes support in BBDM. But just how many consumer focused software utilizes all that hardware prowess? Not much - and the ones that do significantly affect the overal device performance. You'll see significantly improved apps when MIDP3 (JSR 271) gets finalized and distributed by Sun. And if you're unsure what that is; you need to pay attention MORE to SW since you're hardware is already quite capable.
Ah Maemo! That actually is VERY VERY fast but the dev community seems bleak; maybe I haven't digged far enough. Actually I plan on learning Linux this summer but with all these Linux flavors its hard to tell what can work with which version & on which device for newbs like me. I take it you've been playing with N810?
