*OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia N97

There are situations where I'd just prefer to use the onscreen keyboard rather than having to slide it out and thumb the keys, like in a car mount or on a desk where I don't want my professor seeing the screen portion sticking up. I wouldn't call it a dealbreaker but it's bothersome.

Also that site gave me my answer on the wallpaper: it looks like it scales it horizontally when flipped to landscape mode.
 
Well, I guess I stand corrected. I remember in the first youtube video that was posted the guy asked the rep. if there was backlight and I think the rep. said "no". Also, the light never turned on in the entire presentation but then again, the rep. didn't touch the keypad.
 
I'm not holding by breath, though obviously in great anticipation. May would definitely be better. :)

If it's the 15th or thereabouts, that's fine, too. I don't really care about the Ovi Store, but imagine it will launch around the same time.
 
If you don't use Nokia's original car/home charger, it shortens battery life and car charger charges very slow.I wouldn't take my chance with a 700$ phone using a fake Nokia 50$ charger.After I destroyed two batteries using 20$ generic charger,now I always use Nokia authentic charger.It says in the manual too :hehehe:
 
The original version didn't point out the 5MP Carl Zeiss camera, which I took to mean that this wasn't going to be the camera in the production version. It was a shallow theory and didn't hold much water it turns out LOL.

How is this any different from having "menu" as my left softkey on my E71 and with one click, I am able to see 12 apps without any scrolling ?
 
yeah.. In countries like UAE, Singapore, Hong Kong, probably in Finland too. :D

I took a close up look at the N97 qwerty picture on my E71 and just now noticed that the period and comma are on the same key. I guess having to press the shift key shouldn't be too much of big deal in writing lengthy emails and docs.

I have been really spoiled with the layout of the E71.
 
Do you guys really think that majority of the S60/Nokia Users around the world purchased their phone because of the OS?

So many people I have seen with High End Nokia phones.. In Asia and here in the US.

Asked them what they like about their phone?

"Oh I saw TI using a N95 8GB"

"There were so many Olympians on the 2008 Olympics that were using the N95"

"It has a 5MP phone and WiFi"

"This phone was in Transformers and it transformed to a robot"

"This phone was in that movie "Live Free or Die Hard"

"This phone is not out yet here in the US"

These are the answers I always get majority of the time when I asked people with High End Nokia Phones.
