*OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia N97

So, if I understand things correctly...

I can sign-up the 30$ data plan and get the iphones.

Sell the iphones and then call AT&T to cancel the data plan?

Or I'm stuck with 2 year data plan and no iphone?

By past you're referring to the last time Nokia and Samsung announced upcoming handsets and Nokia gave a release date and Samsung didn't?

I'm still divided on whether I like some of these apps being extensions of the Contacts app. I can understand Ovi Contacts but I'm not a big fan of Conversations being in there.

Only concern I have at this point with the ovi store is its going to be a pain in the *** to navigate if there's really 30,000 items in the store. Instead of just lumping themes, wallpapers, and ringtones into the same personalization category, when you go to the personalization category they should first have a screen where you pick which customization you're looking for, because it only shows 10 things at a time and thats going to be a lot of pages to scroll, press next, and scroll again to sort through the crap that will be in there.

I'll never use a phone that doesn't have the 850mhz band and i know there are many who share that opinion. Its just asking for degraded service when sometimes its bad enough just dealing with att's full strength network. I just don't get why samsung can't add that one band to add another 2 continents of possible customers.

You saw it with your own eyes. The menu 100% does not have it. One would hope the widgets will by release but I don't think that's in the cards either. The videos now are of nearly production models.

Some of the reviews also complained about the menus being exactly the same as the 5800. They only improved the browser on this one and added widgets. Those seem to be the whole focus of the conversion of the 5800 to N97.

The whole design of S60v5 seems disjointed in that sense. I can imagine how they did it. Convert S60v3 to S60v5. Make improvements here and there.

So certain apps like the video player are really nice, and the menus feel neglected. The browser was neglected on the 5800. But the N97 fixes that.
For the N98 they might add kinetic scrolling to menus and widgets. They might do it via FW update to the N97 but not before January in my guesstimation. They seem to work on little bits and pieces one at a time. They don't consider the platform as a whole. That was mistake number one with this platform.

hell-yeah! But I'm not in good health to begin with. Something I'm going to change very soon. I don't like starving - hate it in fact (I've never been fat or overweight, actually I'm scrony). Don't starve yourself; just spend less on luxuries. And its time to make money work for you for a change no?
