*OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia N97

I don't see anything wrong with having the space bar key on the right side of the keyboard. The space bar key is a big square button on the keyboard from what I've seen in the pictures of the N97 on youtube. When holding the phone while typing, all one has to do is use their right thumb to press the space bar. What's the big deal with that? That type of finger movement is not awkward or uncomfortable for using the space bar that's located to the right bottom side of the keyboard. I have a Samsung Eternity and I ALWAYS use my thumb on the QWERTY touchscreen when I want to use the space bar. If the space bar on my Eternity was located on the right side of the touchscreen, all that I would have to do is move my thumb to the right more. BIG DEAL! That's not an uncomfortable feeling. I think that it doesn't matter whether or not the space bar on the N97 is located in the middle or on the right side of the keyboard. It doesn't matter using the space bar while typing if it's in the middle or if it's on the far right side. Your thumb will blindly still feel its way to press the space bar all because it's within very close reach. If the space bar were located in the 2nd or 3rd row that's when using it while typing would feel awkward. Stop complaining and enjoy your N97's when you get them. It's an excellent phone. The people who designed the keyboard on the N97 knew what they were doing when they were designing it. IMHO the keyboard looks very ergonomic and very user friendly from seeing it in all the videos. I'm not complaining. I can't wait until I get mine.

You are one of the people who tried it and didn't like it. You are one of those people I mentionned who tried it. If you read all the previous posts carefully, you will notice people who either bashed the keyboard or gave up on the N97 based on your opinion of the keyboard while you clearly stated that they'd better use it first to judge.

I am not speculating on the release date. Everything I've said is exactly what Amazon is saying/doing.

I'm not. I'm going back to the E71-2. I knew that was coming.
There's already too many unboxing videos of the E71, so I guess there won't be one from me. But if someone wants to give me an N97, I'll be more than happy to do an unboxing video. :p

Nawww dude. You guys are gist hatin and talking s**t....
In 3 months you'll be walking down the street going
"click clack padddy whack better than iphone" with the f'n sliding mechanism on the N97 having a total handgasm!

You'll be checking OVI store all the time cuz there will be like 1200 apps first month from all the Apple, Palm, Flash, and symbian programmers on there.
You'll be like a kid in a toy store!

Where do you think all these Samsung hd guys are gonna go all the time?
Symbian-freak and symbian guru and then to ovi store to buy the app and then to howardforums to talk about the s**t they just bought from OVI.

Every paycheck your going to be wondering "do i have enough extra to buy that ovi app i just saw on symbian-freak?"
Everyday symbian freak is going to be talking about some apps off of ovi.

This is the first phone from Nokia since they bought Symbian OS and made it free for all!
And they came "right out the gate" swinging!
This Japanese TV phone design from Nokia delivers a right hook for every left hook from the SamSung HD!

You go 8mp camera on us - we'll go Carl Zeiss and dual LED flash on you.
You go cortex on us - we'll go DDR Ram on you
You go bigger screen on us - we'll go Dpad and physical keyboard on you
You go "build quality" on us - we'll go "form factor" on you
You go Graphics processor on us- we'll ......hmmmm talk s**t about you and then record it as a wave file and FM trasmit it to your f'n Samsung HD and stick it on loop, tune in to channel 97.

You keep talkin s**t about N97 cpu and ram and yer gist a hater. I can talk s**t too.

You realize I can stick your whole phone on half a SD card?
That's your whole phone right there man! Half of an SD card (32gb).
That's your phone!
Do you need a portable hard drive to go with that samsung HD?
I think it is you Samsung HD fans that has HD envy not us!

I sure hope they are lining up a sh**load of servers to handle all the download traffic they are gonna get on OVI store?
They are gonna see some heavy *** traffic!
A billion downloads for Apples app store?
S**t.....we'll hit that in like 7 or 8 months and that's 30 cents on the dollar for Nokia!
Nokias changing and becoming more services oriented and apps writer friendly to catch up with Google and Apple.
We haven't even seen how the first Symbian foundation OS is gonna look on the N97 yet.
When that happens your gonna have a phonegasm.
That first Symbian OS release is going to be soooooooo nice, Soooo much better!

Guys you're changing the subject.

That women in the video isn't even pretty.

But there are some good pointers.

I was thinking of creating a mobile blog were hot girls would introduce new phones.

Seeing some of the bloggers in their own videos sometimes scares me.

How is a color a downgrade

If you don't like anything about Nokia, Symbian and N97, I don't get why you keep reading this boring forums with outdated masochistic people.

Tacos! :buddies:

There's a launch event going on in Koala Lumpur. It's been a long time since Nokia threw a party here in LA.

Oh and the adapter is for old Nokia chargers. Even hooks up to the old old Nokia chargers from the 3650 days.

Except I hate that he repeats..in his website review..that its a Little Slow. I dont know, coming from the Iphone and also going to the new Iphone, the more I read the more I think Im going to cancel my preorder...Its nice looking though.

If you asked me 2-3 years ago I would say Nokia without hesitation. Now, I would say it could be HTC or Palm or Apple or just about anyone else. Nokia engineers just like Nokia marketing are busy finding every last **** to suck instead.

Especially if the **** belongs to Freescale.

Has Nokia finally added a simple device lock button yet? Touch screen devices NEED a hardware button dedicated to locking the device. Like the you know what it is device has and works great.

When I started texting I always had QWERTY phone so my N95 was my first real T9 device and I never really adjusted to it. From the 6820 to the E70 I always had a QWERTY at my fingertips and used it all the time. I've gotten more comfortable with T9 but my SIM is rarely in my N95 long enough to make it matter.

It is! I believe we just ran out of stuff to talk about and we're going thru the same stuff over and over. They should just go ahead and send us the phones so we can move on.
