*OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia N97

I just got an ORDER CONFIRMATION email yesterday at 12:19PM from NokiaUSA regarding my N97 and 5800 order. But there is no tracking number with the Order Confirmation email that I received.
In the email, it shows the order BUT nothing on the STATUS of my order. It does show though which credit card that the order will be charged to and the dollar amounts for each item that I ordered. But before yesterday, the STATUS on my order was in "BACKORDER" and "IN PROCESSING". What's going on right now? Why did NokiaUSA send me the email without telling me about the current STATUS of my order?? Did anybody else in here get this same email that I got? Does the email mean that NOKIAUSA already got the N97 phones in and that they will be shipping out my 5800 and N97 on Monday?

So you're just going to gladly slide your credit card next year for Nokia's next failship when there might (or probably is) another new device that does exactly what you want -better- and -faster- on a different phone from a different manufacturer? As I've reiterated several times already, I DON'T CARE that you bought the N97. I really hope it's perfect for what you want it to do, but to argue that you wouldn't benefit from better hardware that could just as well have been used is just plain nonsense.

Only $510 man. How bad could it be. I never did list my whole phone history since P-series, and only lurked hofo before deciding to jump in on the preorder, but tried out a few things, mostly iPhone (2.5G) and G1. Cam was the main thing holding me back from both of them, though G1 was alot better on the keyboard front.

Didn't buy into Nokia, though I did lurk most of the N96 thread, before going no way. Laughed at Best Buy guys' face when they said $900 for it, too (even though I would have never gotten it there, I did want to play with it a bit in person).

I'm pretty good at spending discipline, but have a bit of cheddar to burn. 700 wouldn't break my bank and been holding off for most of the last year to see which way the chips would fall on the next iphone and g2. If it has 5mp cam and LED flash, I might might might go that way but otherwise, not a chance. g2 losing the keyboard killed any chance of that. only n97 still meets my main bullet points, though a bit more N82 DNA would obviously be preferred for me with the qwerty and touchscreen.

Otherwise, I'd be more likely to go SE C905a/T-Mo CS8

My delivery estimate is Jun 18. I checked Amazon regarding the updated expected stock date and my order is the same expected delivery. It looks like they just ran out of the first batch.

"As fast" meaning the same amount of button presses because it's the exact same method.

Now, to really give you something to whine at me about, Nokia just pushed back the launch of the Ovi Store to as late as the third week of June for the UK. Remember May, the month they originally announced as when it would launch?

Keep holding your breath for the N97 on June 2nd.

Actually no. Asking 'Is it June yet' is just indicative of how excited I am and how much I want this phone. The reasons I want the phone have nothing to do with a piece of silicon inside of it.

And I've never said that this phone is so great or that it's better than 'XYZ' phone, I don't know, I haven't used it yet. But from the pictures, videos, articles, etc. I'm excited and I admit that much.

the CPU has not been published, nobody knows what is the final CPU yet... so let us not assume that there is no 3D, although it does work both ways, hence we also can not assume that there is 3D... one thing is sure it will have a CPU...

the photos look good, i like the comparison next to the n85 seem brighter, just wish you can see at a larger size because frankly all my photos at that lever look good even at night. :buddies:

Everybody has a personal preference. One person might tell you that MobileCityOnline or Expansys are the greatest but the next person will tell you that they are a bunch of thieves. I personally don't buy from any of the online retailers. I live a stone's throw from Pacific Mall and it's only a 20-30 minute drive to SN Traders so I'd rather turn off the PC and get my phone right away. I really can't justify in my mind giving someone my money right away and getting a tracking number in return then waiting to get my goodies.

Some people aren't mentally capable of facing a person with an opinion which differs from their own so they go on the offensive. Having that mentality defeats the purpose of joining an internet forum but I digress.

Ovi is different things to different people. For me, I use it to sync my calender, contacts, etc. and for little else. I, or no one else from what I've seen, is claiming Ovi to be a huge success.

I see Nokia bundling a wall charger that connects to the USB port, much like Blackberry does. I do not see a 2mm charging jack which means I need to buy all new chargers again.

Try as I might, I can't figure how/why there would be predictive capability in a qwerty keyboard? I know in the N800 it completes words that were previously typed in..is that what you mean?
