*OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia N97

WRONG ...

Original unveiling ... Black had it o' riginal feature bar; it was hard to see with dark photos. Nokia's Euro site had the photos as well as on Nokia Conversations too.

Original for me ... because it sends a POWERFUL message that cannot be denied and for the world to know what's really going on! I'd guarantee MORE sales with it on than without it on.

Oh and Blaxx ... seems that JUNE is coming sooner than you think!

Straight from Nokia's Declaration of Conformity site:

Oddly enough; N86 is STILL not listed there!

Exactly. I'll be disapointed but not particularly aggravated if they cancel the "deal." No company should be expected eat hundreds of dollars per unit because of a technical mistake aka glitch. Especially when they specifically put disclaimers that certain deals aren't available on pre-orders.

I could understand some umbrage if there was false advertising or something to that effect.

I think it's far more likely we see a price reduction... or maybe even a carrier pickup. Say a deal with AT&T that would offer them guaranteed volume enough to lower the MSRP?

But I hope it goes through as is on the discount, of course. :buddies:

i wouldnt mind if nokia announced what their future plans are. maybe they just didnt have time to implement kinetic scrolling everywhere thru the OS, but they plan on adding it thru firmware updates. but the thing is nobody knows. c'mon nokia, let us know if you're clueless or not!

Don't worry though, there will be a NAM version.

edit:
JonnyBruha, if you can still edit the first post, you should post all the specs so people dont ask the same questions over and over.

AT&T is releasing a handful of new qwerty smartphones and one of them looks like a S60 5th Edition phone. Check out the link below:

Samsung Impression
Next in line is the side-slider Samsung Impression. Its highlight feature is the 3.2" AMOLED touchscreen of WQVGA resolution, which according to AT&T is a first for the US. In addition to it the handset comes with quad-band GSM and dual-band UMTS with HSDPA support.

The other key features of Samsung Impression are Bluetooth with A2DP, microSD card slot and a 3 megapixel camera with video recording capabilities.

The Samsung Impression will be available from April 7 for 200 US dollars on a two-year contract.

My contract with AT&T is coming to an end and its coming just in time with the E71 for an upgrade.

The market for the N97 just decreased with the Samsung Impression...

I hate to disappoint you, but I was only a 16 digit credit card number away from placing my order last night and the price is definitely $650. My total with shipping and insurance was $683 when I was contemplating my order.

770 Canadian dollars = 655.65423 U.S. dollars

Why are you being so combative with me about this? Do you really think I came back after months of hiatus to spread BS and lies?

Edit: I just put my order together again with the US customer checkout with all of my US information and again, I'm able to select my payment method and place my order.

Blaxx, you make a good point. I would like to see the phone make a call!

I too hope the display picture is larger. I don't use the picture functionality on my phone because it's so small.

You're reading into things way too much. Nobody is defending the low ram like its a good thing. They are saying "well yeah, it sucks, but its good enough for what i'll do with it." Stop taking people's posts and twisting them acting like they are blatant illogical fanboys like iphone people. We all know the n97 ram sucks nobody is trying to say its a good thing. You read posts and twist it to try and say we all like it and prefer it to have low ram.

And what i was saying is that how can nokia make a flagship device with worse ram than the 5800. That was what i meant. Of course i get that the widgets will use more ram.

We're still talking about the same S60v5 here on both devices. The i8910 has the same handwriting recognition as the 5800XM and the upcoming N97. You just use your finger instead.
