*OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia N97

You're now getting a little off base. People buy nokia because they make good phones that are better than the competition. Example the n86 is prob gonna sell well because its good hardware camera. You are acting like 8mp camera phones are a dime a dozen. There really isn't much better out there if you want a good camera. Samsung is out cause they don't include 3g. Where else can a consumer go if they want an 8mp camera?

And i know you aren't happy with your new 5800 s60v5. If you look at my first 3 days of posts i was saying the same things as you. I dunno what happened but i learned the phone learning curve and now i don't wanna go back. Guess i'm just a mindless fanboy that can't thing for myself...?

I dunno. Resolution isn't everything. The Xperia has a very fine resolution, but some people would say that the Touch Pro seems faster and more desirable because the virtually identical processor just makes the Touch Pro a more pleasant thing to use.

The thing that bugs me the most about devices that can be classified as "pocket PC" instead of "smartphone" is that they require a size that seems not entirely conducive to pocket carry and everyday normal usage.

Actually, no. If you click on the link now the pre-order banner is gone and in the lower left hand corner it has the n97 with a buy now button. Check again. Still no n97 in the support menu though.

haha, i actually didn't get it at all. Then i noticed how jontymisra found it so funny, so I had to google it and got exposed to this beautiful scene, lol.

But yes, back on topic, that video will look good on the N97 right? :P

But on a little side note...

omfg, i was in tears as well, i had to rewatch this again, and again, and again, so freaking hilarious and well timed!!! hahahahaha, i have to go see it again, brb ;)

Ok... well, nobody answered my question, lol. I didn't ask anything about the price (which by the way, I was making reference to the full price, with taxes included, shipping included, and on canadian funds, so should come up to around 1k$). The question is *WHERE*, lol. I'm not that familiar with these websites... I see Expansys is getting a lot of words about it, but they seem expensive... no?

you have a point, but then we have not fully tried it yet... let's leave it at that and blast it when we got the chance to use it or NOT "fully able to use it" because of your concerns...

We have a thread going on availability and pricing in Canada but I don't think that's too useful to you guys.

The problem with the d-pad is that no part of it is raised so you can't use it by feel. I actually haven't gotten to the point where I can use the keyboard comfortably without looking at it. It's so much different from the E71

As I said my friend on Amazon Prime for the Black N97 now seeing ship day June 5 which is Friday, again this is ship day not delivery day. My other friend ordered a White N97 from Amazon, he is non-prime member and he now gets ship day at June 6 down from June 8. My order, non-prime, Black N97, is still on June 8 ever since I pre-order it back in May.

I am not sure what the above means but this is what is going on with Amazon right now.

I have to disagree with that. The level of prediction and "fuzzy" prediction is amazing. You don't even have to press the right button half the time and your message comes out correctly in most cases. Nokia is nowhere near that level with their touch algorithm.
