*OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia N97

Yeah I missed it. Wonder why he linked to a completely irrelevant video to his point.

Yeah finally "kinetic scrolling". I will admit that it is nice. Finally 2 years after the iPhone. A basic feature that should be in any touch screen device designed to compete with the iPhone. Funny the parallels between Apple announcing "cut and paste" finally and Nokia announcing "kinetic scroll" finally. That double tap zoom finally implemented as it is on the iPhone is nice to see as well.

I have to admit this phone is looking better. They might have released the 5800 as a foil.

I post here since the device is of interest to me. Besides the nice videos seemed to pop up after I posted a few negative comments. So open discussion facilitates this sort of information becoming more common knowledge about the phone. I certainly can't say that they aren't trying.

Hi all,

Seriously i just can't believe this idea of being able to add more Ram/Rom to the N97 has been suggested as this really is clutching at straws. As besides anything else it's just not possible otherwise it would of course been done by now on devices that really did need it. If your that convinced it's going to need it maybe you should wait and see how it performs first when released, personally i think the processor raises far more concern.

It looks like my return to S60 may well not be with Nokia after all as Orange my UK network should release them some time next week. I'm awaiting on a call back once they are as they have no prices yet but expect to get one @?35pm on a 18 month contract with the phone for free and 500mb Internet use included. If i don't like it I''ll still get a good price on E-Bay this soon after launch but i doubt it will replace my Bold it may just be a 2nd device if as i said it's really good enough and my concern is actually just how much like S60 v5 or not.

I'm also wonder what kind of strategy Nokia has that not to make a global 3G phones like other manufacturers but need to make different Europe and NA version for the top N Series and have people paying premium for it.

Amazon no longer shows ''Temporary out of stock''

Black N97 1-4 weeks, White 2-4 weeks!

I don't know what does that mean, Amazon is playing around with their ETA to attract more customers!

You're right, and if it's subjective for me to value a faster CPU, 256mb of RAM, and hardware acceleration over...well, anything slower, then I guess that's just my opinion too, isn't it?

What i would like to know is why, after over half a year of people playing with this device, has not ONE person reported on this poor keyboard? Many bloggers and reviewers played with this thing months ago. Apparently all it takes is 2 min with the phone to feel the poor quality. What gives?

Have u ever heard about racism??

just kiddin :hehehe:
More people were preordering the black one, I don't know why it's the white one that went up to 799. But anyway, this is how Amazon works, one day it's $5, two weeks later it can be $400. When you see a good price on Amazon, JUMP ON IT!!! All their prices fluctuates.

I know, but i'm just saying Nokia is willing to release even their flagship phones with ridiculous amounts of bugs, and what prevents them from doing this to the N97? That it's important? I've heard that excuse enough times to know that it is ********. I'll believe it when I see it.
