Yeah, it's not bad honestly. It could be better, but it works.

But I hate the check mark placement. They need to think more about how people hold the phone and how to put it where it is convenient. It comes into play in the browser. Ideally the keypad should be transparent and show you exactly where you are typing in the browser.
 
I wonder if that means a complete UI upgrade (i.e. to Symbian Foundation or something......unlikely, but that'd be awesome).

Did anyone else notice in that techradar review that they didn't use the correct sentence for the keyboard test? They missed the "s"....."jumped" vs "jumps"

He took it from the transformation of the N95.. Making the N95 look obsolete..

How effective is the vibration? I pretty much hate hearing the phone ring these days, even if it's a nice mp3 ringtone like the Imperial March or something. :D
 
The N95 was such a great device and completely stood out from the competition. The n97 improves on the platform and brings it into the whole touchscreen era. I'm sure the next iteration will improve on the n97 to what every one wants. We all know that if the n97 had everything we wanted, the price would be off the charts. I wouldn't pay 800+ for it at that point. They have a better chance of getting sales by making a good change to the n95. It's not as subtle as the iphone 3GS changes (these new additions are what people wanted 2 years ago and they should have it then but go figure).

Everyone is used to the state-of-the-art status that the n95 had that they want the n97 to have it as well. And I don't blame them. The N97 may have a few shortcomings but it looks to be a great device... and hopefully it is. It won't revolutionize the industry like the n95 did, but it's definitely up there in great phones.
 
You also have to figure that the next iPhone will be coming pretty soon, as well. If it has a branded 5.0MP lens with Xenon flash, I may be canceling my N97 order.
 
The catch is that it's got that faster CPU under the hood and still manages to get better battery life, at least from what we've seen thus far.

Highly rated retailer shopblt.com has Estimated Arrival Date as 5/31/09 and 5530 fans have already placed order with them!! :wow: I thought wait was only killing me. lol.Their price is cheaper then Amazon's because unlike Amazon, this retailer only charges tax in Connecticut and Florida :2thumbs:

I'm so tempted to order if only a way to be sure of ETA.
 
I have too much pride to get robbed by punk kids. They'd have to pry the phone from my cold dead hands. I wouldn't put it past them for trying tho, if they knew what the phone was, they must have known how much it costs
