Well, I deleted my sim contacts (leaving only the contacts saved in the phone), also power cycled the phone - taking the battery out when it was off - and my text issue seems to be fixed. Awesome! Thanks for the help guys!
 
It has been said again and again...The stock date on Amazon is for people who preorder NOW!!! Those who preordered a few weeks ago will get their N97 this week or next week...Those who preordered when the stock date was June 25th (like me) will get their N97 on June 29th or before. And for those who preorder now, it will be after June 30th....

My order page on amazon still says expected delivery: June 29th (it ships on the 26th, but 27th and 28th is weekend, so i get it on the 29th)
 
:( ...and I liked the S60 forum, too :reallysad . To my credit, I haven't had a phone with a traditional keypad in 1 1/2 years before getting my N95. I've adjusted for the most part but I'm not 100% there yet! At least I'm past the painful initial readjustment phase of full QWERTY-to-T9 LOL!
 
That's one way to view it. Apple is amongst the few companies that puts an extraordinary amount of effort to get their polish in before release. Apple isn't immune to throwing out test cases, though (see MacBook Air). N97 is obviously amplied refinement of 5800. Should have they have waited? All depends on their forecasts and if this is a foot-in-the-door or their actual final endpoint on the touch for S60. Their sales expectations would be interesting to know.




5800 and iPhone aren't aimed at the same consumer. N97 owners might have better cause to complain since they're in a far more similar target demographic. I already have a big list of reasons why an iPhone isn't suitable for me (and posted them a few pages ago)...

Speculating, of course, but I'm dubious we'll see an OS update with full OS kinetic scrolling myself, but it's possible for a future revision of N97 (possibly with 8mp). More likely they'll do an N98 next year or in 2011. Nothing wrong with waiting or getting the new iPhone if that's a critical feature for you.

i never said better than iphone, i said great browsing experience, the iphones an even better experience.
To me personaly the e90 is the best if 3g was there, there is no scrolling because of the super high resolution.
 
Exactly what were you expecting? They run the exact same OS.

An OmniaHD is just a 5800 with more megapixels, TouchWiz and capacitive screen by your logic.
 
well if anyone uses a 5800 and doesnt like it should expect almost the identical experience from the n97, with added kinetic scrolling in the browser. i dont have any problems at all with s60v5 honestly. but if anyone has used the 5800 for more than 2 weeks and THEN doesnt enjoy it, then these phones arent for them. nothing wrong with that.

has anyone ordered a screen protector for this phone yet, even though we wont have it for a while, i would like to have one to put on asap...where is a good place to get one if they are selling them already..i was looking for a good anti glare screen protector..
 
does anyone know if i can connect my hotmail account to the email widget
i tried to do it but it just created some bookmark... then i tried gmail and it worked
but i want hotmail
