*OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia N97

hopefully... i got so mad when i saw that price, was thinking "are they SERIOUS?!" when all the other phones coming out seem to be just as amazing in their own ways and they price the n97 like 50% more than all of them...

After finding out that the predictive text cannot be enabled on the N97, there is a bit of a letdown. However, if I am not mistaken, the E90 Communicator in the landscape mode may not have had predictive text either. I got used to it back then, and I am sure I can do the same for the N97.

i agree 100%, that's why it probably won't last with me. right now i'm havin fun with it though. my other minor complaint is the SMS interface. it has to be the clunkiest of any on the market as well.

For what seems like the hundredth time, FORGET about the i8910. I'm not trying to say anyone should buy it over the N97.

The i8910 is not going to prove what the new hardware is capable of because no one is going to develop applications just for it. Nokia is the role model company that will sell more devices that developers would be interested in. So instead of developing new applications that can use the new hardware, developers have to settle on the capabilities of a 434mhz Freescale processor with 128mb of RAM and no 3D hardware acceleration.

How so? I can get pretty much any application (including Nokia-made applications) that I can use on my N95 8GB on to a INNOV8, why will it be different with the Omnia HD?

It appears to me that without a stylus, the touch screen will be difficult to use at best. What about a way for the touch screen to not accidentally activated-like while in a pocket, etc? I may have missed this in an earlier post, but is there anything about a screen lock of some sort?

I've gotten used to locking my phone and computer whenever i'm not around or else i usually come back and find facebook statuses and other random things that weren't there before

This is gonna be a long weekend. If someone would say outright it would be June 15 or June 23 or whatever, that's fine. I'm still hoping June 2 or June 3, though. :D

There aren't many devices which have the 3.5" inch screen that make it easy to view web pages. The N97, the Apple iPhone, the Omnia HD and the Samsung Eternity are the only phones so far that have a decent larger size screen for internet browsing. All the other cell phones are inadequate for this.

From the article:

How does one conclude one being stupid from Nokia's Maemo not being compatible with Android? Since when is Android the standard in mobile Linux OS? Nice logic retard. What is wrong with people.
