*OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia N97

What do you mean by this when you say that you will save $245 instead of $260 on the N97??
Were some people who ordered the N97 able to get it for much less than the $244.65 DISCOUNT from the original $699 price?
When I placed my order with NOKIA USA at around 3:44AM EST, I was only able to get the $244.65 DISCOUNT to go thru. But before I placed my order, i was playing around and kept entering the discount code since around 2:00AM or 2:30AM in the morning and I STILL was getting the SAME $245 DISCOUNT on the N97.
Was there a much greater discount than $245 on the N97 much earlier in the evening when the discount code originally came out?

Its ok I was planning for May '09 for the Euro version anyway ;) .

Still that link for March 09 states " ... the first UK retailer has now added the touchscreen, qwerty handset as a pre-order product due to be in stock from March 31st 2009!" Seems to me just a hyped pre-order to me, nothing in that link says anything from Nokia stating release date; so I'll keep my ears open for such a statement from Nokia. I hope PJ is right though of the release date.

BTW, specs on Developer S60 state NAM version for 3.5G already so I'm sure it won't be long for it to be released after the Euro.

You can wait til July if you want to but holla at me in June if you want to see my black N97 to help you make up your mind LOL. I'm almost willing to bet a N97 on the release date

From what I heard... it's supposed to released simultanously with the europeen version... So around Mid-June. But I didn't realy get into official details...

I'll probably wait a couple of months and get people's opinion before I jump on one. My main concern is that it will not have the new email client like the new E-series phones. I hate the email system in the N96 and 5800.

http://www.engadget.com/2008/12/04/nokia-n97-hands-on-part-ii-the-reckoning/ good enough?

whatever this doesn't really matter :)

I am going to be really disappointed if the white takes a while to release though.

Ogami:

Try intelliscreen it will solve the notification issue for the most part. Also I find that my e-mails always have the trail in them. But if you search for a particular subject, you will have in seconds the whole e-mail trail. You can view them all in reverse chronological order. That search is something else. You can always find the information you need.

Depends on if it's personal or business. Right now I'm in a waiting mode to see if Nokia brings a high end touch E-series device of until we see more info on the "N900".

so much written...and no final verdict...has the alleged disappointing CPU completely turned everyone off??? cuz it seems many are willing to stick by the device and splash the major cash...

I love it but I think everyone knew I would. I still don't like the keyboard but as Dr Tran said, I'm getting used to it. I hardly ever use the d-pad (I think they should have raised it or sunk in the scroll key in the middle because I haven't been able to use it without looking yet). The screen is amazing, simply gorgeous and the touch response is great for me (some people have asked me to compare it with the touch response on an iPhone but I don't think I'm qualified to. I've only used an iPhone/iPod Touch sparingly when I used to work with a guy with an iPhone 3G)
