*OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia N97

That's not for both the E75-1 and E75-2, it's only for the E75-1. The FCC site has two separate filings for the E75-1 (PYARM-412) and the E75-2(PYARM-413) because the E75-2 has 850MHz WCDMA that needs to be tested.

From Navifirm we know that there are three different handsets for N97:

RM-505
RM-506
RM-507

QVVRM-505 is already through FCC but we haven't seen either of the other two show up. I think RM-507 is the NAM variant but since Nokia pulled the firmwares from Navifirm I can't look it up anymore. It listed product codes for all the NAM markets. So we need to keep an eye out for QVVRM-507.

EDIT:

Here it is. QVVRM-507 is what we're looking for.

Of course I know that the N97 is not going to have as much RAM and ROM memory like a laptop computer, but I think that it's still going to be fast enough for me for using it for the internet. I purchased the N97 because of its huge screen and internet and phone capabilities and because it's compact. You cannot beat that. I think that it's going to be an excellent internet phone.

I agree 100% with that reply. It's not like we're buying a super duper graphics intensive, gobbly gook do it all computer for cryin out loud. As long as the thing gets good reception, is reliable, connects to the web, easy enough to hold and type on..I'm good with it. My N95 still works like a charm after 2 years, so I'm gonna expect the durability from this as well. We're not all so interested in the specs of clock speed and all the other stuff mentioned on other devices like the Omnia. Each to his own and enough already.

@Dog: I think what the deal is, is that for some reason your posts come off pretty smug...be aware of that

If the position of the spacebar is the primary driver for your satisfaction with a thumbboard, I will indeed feel bad for you. :buddies:

Don't feel too bad, though. Nokia's N810 thumbboard is essentially the same as what HTC uses in most of their phones. I still use it, despite the tactile feedback being terrible. At least they're better than on-screen keyboards.

Also for all those clamoring about the iPhone being faster, the 3GS was mostly shown to be faster when it came to loading, not when actually browsing an Excel document and whatnot. Means less wait times, but not faster performance everywhere. Pass.

On allaboutsymbian's review, here is their take:

When texting do the keys go down significantly enough to get a satisfying click or are they pretty shallow and its sometimes tough to know if youve clicked a key?

The haptics are good here and you know when you've hit a key. It's working out which key to HIT that's sometimes tricky. Lighting, layout, space bar etc.

Well, if technically the phone is set to release on June 23th or 26th wtv... by the time it actually reaches your hands, it'll most probably be july... It's ok man, I know it hurts, truth always hurts... And that is, IF and IF they actually respect the deadline.

Apple is also retreating from the mobile market, and Nokia is entering back in Japan.

The best way to describe N97 is that it's a good phone, but it's not the best, the ''wow'' factor is not there as it was in N95 when it was released! What a hype it was.

jontymisra , did you try the small shop in China town on Dundas? They should have N97, but I bet 1000$ CA.Last time I went their, they had N96 for 1000$

Without a doubt:

256MB RAM - multitasking
ARM A8 - addresses people's complaints about the slow interface

Really the rest explains itself, but those two are the money specs.

If I were an iPhone guy I would be elated over this. With the new OS it will address every complaint power users have had. It catapults the device past any Nokia in hardware and software.

Also, I'm pretty sure it's not but i just want to make sure since I'm not big on 3G bands...so the N97 NAM won't work on T-Mobile right? Only AT&T? Cause I refuse to ever suscribe to AT&T and am a happy T-Mo user.
But Edge should still work right?

I heard that you can run World Of Warcraft with an OMAP3... lol, you got TV Out, connect a bluetooth keyboard/mouse and you're set to play WoW from your mobile
