Ah, that's sexy fabulous. Just like my N810 (although the N810 also has a CTRL key and keyboard shortcut support).

I suppose it's for the best; a less cramped keypad makes for a better user experience.



No one knows how fluid the actual UI design will be but in terms of responsiveness, it looks to be hitting the epic levels attained by the E71 judging by this video:

I'm done harping on its downfalls, but when I visit this thread as compared to posting in i8910 threads, it feels like I'm reading info about two completely different classes of phones. I mean no disrespect when I say this, but it feels like S60 on a Nokia is considered S60-lite or something. Don't bother telling me all the reasons you think that's not right because I already know you all feel that way, but it's just how it feels for me.

I wish there was a flagship store in Atlanta (or ANYWHERE other than two stores in all of the US) where I could give the screen on the N97 a try. My main concern with the screen is durability and if it's not glass, something as durable as the screen on my N810 would be perfectly fine. Capacitive is worthless without multitouch. I'd much rather be able to use a stylus for the random times I want to sketch something than have my phone recognize my touch as soon as my skin grazes it.
 
We want the homerun, its nice that they are converging but i want the homerun, give me the xenon so if u want to bash apples camera at least let us boast on a camera in all situations not just day time.
I still dont know what the guts of this thing is, ram processor ect.... :buddies:
 
The market for $1000 phones is very limited, even more so than the market for $700 phones. My own price limit is around $500, and it better be a damn good phone for that price. I can buy a decent enough PC for that, after all.
 
you can use PDA's too. I didn't use it for daily use, only for when I use to go to class and program it to the tv's and stuff. I like the traditional TV remote for my TV/Cable box.
 
Some dude at the other thread (Omnia HD x N97) said that the transfer speed for the N97 will be 2mb/s. But I thought it had usb 2.0 speeds (up to 8mb/s, if I'm not mistaken). Who's right?
 
I know it can. But do phone makers care enough to do that?

I have yet to try typing on a 5800 hopefully I can do that sometime this week but that is one thing that makes me want the N97 over it. If the software keyboard is junk on it, at least there's a real keyboard to pound on underneath.
 
boredom has set in. when that happens i usually revert back to my iPhone :D actually am selling all my phones but the iPhone and Bold. Gonna stash some money for the N97, but after these 5800 mishaps, I'm not so sure I'm as stoked about the N97 as I was.
 
this phone has been hyped up so much already...kinda getting annoyed with it...only thing that i really want to know is the processor...pretty much everything has been covered...above and beyond...i was sold on it when it was just announced...
 
I really hope that second homescreen is allowed to have "widgets" instead of just being blank.

The large buttons on the side automatically dissapear in the browser after a set time. There is a video in this thread (tnkgrl?!) where the Nokia rep mentions that they have added this feature.
