*OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia N97

I was a little bored of the N95 - N95-4 - N85 form factor ....

Thanks Nokia you have just made things interesting for all of us here and i am looking forward to play with this baby

As long as you take care in putting the shield on you'll be fine. The problem people have with them is they just use the device after it dries. You have to wait a day or two to let all the water evaporate.

And wow, that's terrible build quality. The screen actually came off?

I mean I can say that for all the phones coming out this year :disappoin

You could just wait for everyone else to betatest the phone then go. I've been burned far too many times by launch day devices to know that the only purpose of grabbing them is to resell. I didn't even consider getting an iPhone until 2.1 came out because the initial firmware was terrible. In fact I can't think of a part of the iPhone 3G launch that wasn't terrible. I hope apple learned a lesson from that.

From a Danish blog too! Any one want me to translate the article and repost? Looks as though there is a full hands on with the N97 as well as the N86 and live photos of the E52 on their front page.

Oh, that's great. One person pre-orders and N97 for less than $500 while the guy next to him orders his for $700. At $700 at least throw in some extra goodies like a free 1 year subscription to Files on Ovi or some free voice navigation or something. Give the non-HoFoers out there more incentive to part ways with their 7 bills!

Uh oh. Tactile feedback might mean a touch screen like the Storm that clicks. I've tried it and I really didn't like it.

edit: from reading elsewhere, it looks like its a vibration feedback, not a clicking touchscreen...thats a good thing

Well the bottom of the phone is raised to match the thickness of the camera module so that it sits flat on a table so don't think you're gonna get a top heavy phone.
