*OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia N97

Did my first 'uboxing' video yesterday morning as my son was born (8:14 pacific). Now I'm just waiting for the phone and catching up on posts. :)

Very nice quote:

So very very true. :hehehe:

Are you stalking me on Hofo?? Kidding! I'll be more than happy to do an unboxing video of the N86 as well. Ofcourse we have no idea when the NAM version will be out, but I'm more than willing if someone will donate their phone for a few hours or so. :D

A lot has been said about the omnia hd having better gaming ability due to its hardware acceleration, but good graphics don't make a good game. I haven't seen too much chatter about the location of the d-pad on the n97, except to complain about it, but i see potential. This is the first phone i've ever seen that might be worthy of running game emulators, which gives it access to huge libraries of proven great games. After months of checking the news, and reading reviews every day, i still don't know which of these phones i want. Right now i'm leaning towards the n97

I'm sorry, I meant the E51. The E55 is using a 600mhz processor that I'm not familiar with (I can't find where the exact processor is listed).

ARM11 architecture, Freescale MXC300-30, clocked to 369mhz in E51, E63, E71, and 5800XM, 424mhz in N97 and N86.

I think it's gotten important for a lot of people in major urban centers. I actually hate seeing the 'E' symbol on my phone or the stupid antenna. I only want to see either 3G or 3.5G

nice video. I am VERY much wanting N97 now. Was hoping to have it by mid June since I have a baby due then and was hoping to get a baptism by fire on that camera. Ah well. Still can't wait. I'm on LinkedIn, but may well be making a Facebook just because of this phone. :D

Gotcha, sorry for the confusion. But on a serious note, does the T1i really need a 15MP sensor? I always cringe when the bump the MP up as to photo quality. That said, it is a Canon.

The other side of this though is that some users developed damaged keypads over time because the top part of the slide with the screen was closing too close over the keys and scraped over them as the device was closed and opened. If you've ever taken one apart, you can see that the rail bending and tape-applying process is adjusting a balance of friction and sturdiness. You can make the slide incredibly tight, but then your phone won't open. After having seen this first hand, it's easy to understand why there are so many varying responses to build quality.

The other fact that everyone seems to miss about the "build quality" is that despite how the phone feels in your hand, they are still built exceptionally well and are very, very durable. Through all of the loose slider claims you've ever heard from someone, how many of those complained that their device fell apart? You won't find them, and if you review some of the pictures taken from one of the quality inspection facilities by the guys at All About Symbian, you'll see why.

I'd just rather not deal with SN Traders to be completely honest with you. I only inquired because of proximity but if I were to buy it locally, CellSpeed or Pacific Mall would be my first choices.

The screen still does not look real to me, it's so bright that it looks like the picture that's pasted onto the screen of the dummy phones lol.

That was when it was announced...

For some apparent reason, I think something has change..

If you ask them right now.. You will not get a straight answer.. Heck consider yourself lucky if you'll even get an answer.

As it progress.. Their completely changing stuff.. Heck when me and Mark from The Nokia Blog was playing with one, we couldn't even figure out where the period button was (.), It was not present on the keyboard even from holding the shift or caps key.
