*OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia N97

Because it's some guy who uses Mac OS who also happens to be a Nokia fan. Not really all that crazy.

I doubt that designation for "M" is correct since they all have "RM"

Nokia designates variations with the "-x". One could be for Euro, the other for NAM and the other for China (no wi-fi). At least that's how the N95 was handled.

But in any case, I think I'll do the same thing as you Blaxx... The price doesn't really bother me, at that price was is an extra hundred... But I'd much rather purchase directly from Nokia than a reseller. I never even bought my SE from Sony...

I think like anything we will all get used to it. I just grabbed my e71 and noted that I do tend to use my right thumb more than the left. Having said that, I do too think that the layout kind of stinks but will give it the benefit of the doubt for the time being

For me I'm not upgrading to another device until I own a MacBook Unibody or iMac metal - unless a Dual G5 2Ghz is under $450. Either way Snow Leopard is going to ROCK!

N97 ... is it that appealing to those that pre-ordered it?
Is the further pre-order delay's across retailers disturbing enough to cancel out and get their CC's re-imbursed?

Just block those two whiny little bit*hes. They can't fathom that somebody might actually like something they don't. I don't like the iphone, but do u see bit*hing over in their forum? I don't because I'm not an a$$ hole like those two. They should really get banned...

You are absolutely correct. It's not a bargain. Buying (or receiving for "free") subsidized phones is a mindset that carriers have gotten consumers into. "Free" or almost free sounds so good that undiscerning buyers fall for it without calculating the costs as you have done. I love not being under contract (even though I'm content with T-mo) so that I'm free to go someplace else if the need arises.

For me I saw it with my own eyes and touched it with my bare hands. I been playing with the proto once a month for the past 3-4 months at the NYC S60 User meetings.

I'm not sure what happened with the pics at www.mobile-review.com but I remember the pic quality on the N97 is way better than the 5800.

32GB of storage space plus expansion through MicroSD slot. 1500MAh battery. Screen tilts on the N97, doesn't on the Touch Pro. Touch Pro is smaller. Higher resolution on the N97. Bigger screen as well I believe. Touch Pro has more physical keys

@Blaxx

I really find it hard to understand just why you are so confused as to think there isn't going to be a GSM Palm Pre as from as soon as it was announced it was clear there would be a CDMA version for Sprint followed by a GSM variant shortly after. That's not an if or maybe it's quite clearly a fact and it shouldn't arrive to long after the CDMA version either. Well for me it's the Pre or a Omnia HD or stick with my Bold I'm not wasting an upgrade or paying good money for an N97 I'd rather buy another E90 for far cheaper as it's much better IMO.

Seriously, What does the look of the device have anything to do with the processor?
I take it you find nothing wrong with an xpress music device getting a faster processor than nokia's Flagship.
