*OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia N97

After using Exchange, I cannot use ANY other service. Sure I pay for it, but it's open to pretty much ANY phone that supports exchange, and Ovi limits itself to Nokia, and BES to well, BBs.

Atleast now I can swap between Nokia/iPhone/HTC anytime I want without every worrying about backing up data/contacts n stuff.

And, with ITsolutions now - it's an unlimited box too :D

Wirelessly posted (Nokia N95-3: Mozilla/5.0 (SymbianOS/9.2; U; Series60/3.1 NokiaN95_8GB-3/31.2.007; Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 ) AppleWebKit/413 (KHTML, like Gecko) Safari/413)

international voip calling is very important for me thru sip/internet call. I heard that n97 does not have internet calling/sip calling. When i say that i mean there is "sip settings" but there is no "internet tel" which means you can create profile but really can not register.
N97 specs also do not mention sip calling. Why would nokia do that. I mean this is like going backward. I heard n78,5800,and n96 also do not have internet calling either.

Can anyone who has played with n97 confirm that?

Kidding me? Same old boring stuff from the OS 3.0 show, compounded with glitchy (though cool) demos and whatnot.. borefest until they announce the new hardware.

But once they do, I might be canceling as well and returning to the faithful XPERIA.

FYI, Mac OS X debuted in Beta back in 2000/1. Its not even 10yrs old yet. by Comparison Symbian being 10yrs old (more if you count the underpinnings which is from the Psion OS - we're looking at 15yrs). I'm no Engadget fanboy in the least but here Mac OS is younger than S60 by a 2yr minimal margin.

This N97 is pretty good.

They wouldn't be coming out with a iPhone version unless they thought they would sell more than would get pirated. Maybe their big ugly dongle will be foolproof, but piracy is trivially easy on an jailbroken iPhone. But no, I don't expect veracity from their PR speak on that, either.

they aren't small...it's not the matter of the size of the button anyways. it's the spacing that matters more and the n97 has a good amount of space between the keys.

You have to call and verify it again, had the same issue and posted this in the other thread (N97 (NAM) US release date) because this one was talking too much about iphones.

anyone remember watching the youtube video showing the n95 next to the n96 playing that racing game? the n95 blew away the n96 in smoothness and choppynesss. the n96 just was horrible. i dont know why nokia stopped the 3d hardware. stupid.

I'm pretty sure the NokiaUSA pre-orders will be the last to be fulfilled. NokiaUSA clearly have little regard for their customers and do not deserve our business.
