Quite Simply 3 things:
1) TOO MANY devices in S40 & S60!! Sure it gives them a breadth of potential sales but their crimping too much on mid-tier devices and not revolutionizing on high end enough!!
2) Too many cpu providers - means less major sales for them, so they do NOT innovate cpu's quickly enough. Nokia needs to narrow it down and drive performance from the suppliers (Qualcomm, TI, FreeScale).
3) Not enough Triband 3G devices. Again another E-Series long rumored to have only Dual-band 3G (900/2100Mhz = E75). This is stupid really in today's world when 1 product line with varying product codes, language support in firmware can be shipped at a MUCH cheaper cost while reducing build-quality issues.
There you have it. #3 should be seriously looked at by Nokia in harsh economic times like this when S40 devices with Triband for mid-tier or low teir can ship to various continents intead of just 2.

I'm not going to order it all under one card...
Will make multiple orders of a black and a white N97 with my credit cards and then use my other family members cards for some more.
Man this is depressing the more I think about it... and I was awake around 2am helping my girlfriend do her final project... if only I Hofo-ed before going to bed..

As I said, I don't even care. A 3.5" capacitive OLED would be just as nice as a 3.7" to me, but if we're all going to start pointlessly throwing numbers at each other, they should probably be correct.
One more thing I'd like to share about release dates. I asked several people at the Nokia flagship stores why we never saw release dates from Nokia. I had waited for them to launch the N73, E70, E90, and before I moved, the N95 and every time I asked, I always got the same answer. They specifically said that they (the employees) are not told any release dates so they don't tell the customers those dates. They said this is to prevent customers from becoming disappointed in the event a device is pushed back unexpectedly, which happened a lot.

And yes it does have an FM Transmitter.
If the hinge was built of metal then it would break even faster. Plastic have a flexible element that allows it to take a bang without breaking. Nokia considered using metal hinges but decided that plastic is best.
They also considered builting the phone in metal, but that brings the phone up in weight by like 33% so they turned that down too.

Well it's a good thing that Nokia follows the S60 thread on HoFo to a certain degree because you got good ideas. It's nice to see sr1329 excited about this phone again LOL. Some of the bad taste that the 5800 left in his mouth has been washed away with N97 freshness :lol:

A lot but not all Nseries Nokia phones are built in Finland. That's why you'll find a lot of people in this S60 thread making a big deal on whether their device is 'MIF' or not. Also, the sturdy build part? I don't think you've handled to many Nseries sliders, otherwise you'd know that that has been a major problem for Nokia over the past couple years. To the point where they had to change the sliding mechanism in the N95.

I was an early adopter of the 95-1 in May of 07 on V10. I never regretted it and still have it-why wait for an improved version? If we did that we'd never even cross the road...always waiting..waiting
I guess I am not familiar with how Samsung announces handsets. I sort of assumed they would say it would be available on said day and bam it would be. Im just sort of expecting the N97 NAM to not be available to mid-July sometime and the Omnia a month or month and a half before that.

This tablet would show that they are, if anything. They're simply offering a combined feature set with N97 that noone else is.
Not that they're mutually exclusive options. N97 is essentially an N95 with touch and QWERTY and a new widget UI. Not enough for some people, but that doesn't stop them from making sure everyone else knows that, apparently, but perfectly satisfactory to people who found the variants of N95 lacking in one or more ways that is finally answered.

What's your issue? Nokia said they will follow suit. Can't you just wait and see if they will follow suit or not, and then bash them???
From the Touch Pro 2 and Touch Diamond 2, HTC products will get official support for 6.5 because if they don't say/do that, a bunch of people won't buy their phones until 6.5 is released.
It's the same thing when Microsoft releases a new OS...If we are in January and Microsoft says they'll release a new VISTA in June, every computer manufacturer will put a sticker saying "new Windows VISTA Ready or Compatible" so that people don't hold off on buying their computers because a new OS is coming....
Older HTC phones will have NO official support for 6.5, and they are way younger than the 2 years old N95...

That would be a travesty. The kinetic scroll should automatically kick in when any application requires touch scroll. Basic UI features like that should not be an individual developers problem.
Make the framework and allow 3rd parties to tap into that framework. We've seen how successful that has been in other platforms.
