*OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia N97

Maybe Nokia remembered that a lot of people out there are feeling the effects of the recession and decided to knock almost $200 off the price of the N97. Then again, it might just be a teaser to boost pre-orders. Time will tell...
 
Well that's a possible scenario for sure, but if we decided to wait every time a new device is out thinking that probably the next device will be better and fix their shortcomings then we'll never buy anything, and I'm talking about laptops, cellphones, mp3 players, etc., that's the way electronic world has been moving and I'm not completely happy about it either, but that's why I think that if you really like the device and can afford it just buy it and enjoy it.
 
I think that they're getting ready to ship. The reason they're coming up with the BS database excuse and July date is because just in case something happens, they don't want anyone whining "But... but... but you said June xx...".
 
Fried, great find! Unfortunately still smoke and mirrors. THey gotta start giving more concrete information than "we're working on this" and "I think you'll begin to see a change" for answers. Still a good find!
 
Lol I'm mocking iPhone users (read - 1st gen ones) who posted numerous threads on numerous boards claiming iPhone was their ticket for a joy ride (in all literal sense)

I'm not holding anyone against their opinion...I specifically said some will like it. But I don't think Nokia would put out a proto units since people try before they buy. To put out a none finished unit for people to try and buy is probably not very smart.
 
It's all good. But I guess they delayed it, lost the market share to apple already. Note that this phone is not going to be released for another 6 months. 5MP camera will be a common thing by then.
 
Even with that low RAM , Apple sold 3.8 million iPhone's in Q1! They made whopping $1.2 billion profit .. which seems to be the most succesful non-holiday quarter in Apple's history!! Now with 3.0 around the corner, It will be interesting to see the fate of N97 with these HW specs released.
