*OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia N97

LOL, it sounds ugly but it's almost true, and that's why I like N97 although I would have liked 256MB RAM to make it even better, I'm anxious to put my hands on it.
 
As long as it says Samsung on the outside of the phone, it's crap. Done.

It's not denial. Name a good Samsung smartphone. Any of you.

And as much as I dislike Samsung, some of you are equally down on Nokia.
 
Looks like it was at the flagship store. Yeah that was EPIC FAIL with the scroll bar. The only encouraging thing was that he said that it was the prototype he was using. When he held down the menu key and the 'Open applications' window came up, I was like "WTF is that?". That's a sign that I've been using Handy Taskman for way too long.
 
 
Well its using Toshiba's video acceleration hardware from last year. Someone over at Nokia Discussions Forum blew up the photo and found the models of one of the chipsets. Then again it was a proto of the FCC pic.
 
29th or 30th June. it doesn't matter. The disappointment is the deviation from 2nd June press release. Lot of us were expecting this phone to be available within 1-2 weeks after the shipment announcement. But now we are talking about a month delay.
 
I have it turned on because many times there are some funny ones like Uxi's and that guy that had a quote from Groucho Marx (can't remeber who it was).

Btw, I am probably getting the N97 as well. I have gotten quite used to the 5800 touch screen and as soon as I see some reviews from you guys here that have ordered already I will probably get one.
 
The 1900 frequency isn't used in Europe. They use 900/1800 overseas. I was referring to their 3G network because even though it isn't completely deployed yet, it still uses 1700/2100 and requires phones specifically designed to their network (The phone has to have both frequencies, not just 2100 which is why Euro phones don't work on T-Mo's 3G network)
 
How often do people have their cell phones out in the sun? Especially in the age of bluetooth. Everyone around here seems to wait until they're at the mall or in the movies. :doh:
 
There's a rumor that the new iPhone will have 10x optical zoom, will have 3D hologram keyboard and will type for you while reading your mind.

BUT won't allow you to simply transfer files using bluetooth or even just copy your documents, ebooks, etc... and don't mention delete a mp3 without having to use a computer...

That's life, nothing is perfect definitely.
 
Hmmm..I was just browsing some of the 5800 threads and see an AWUL lot of frustration over there. I can only imagine the level of frustration that is going to appear on this and other forums once the 97 hits the street. The communications with Nokia USA tech support is unreal bad and can make you pull your hair out. That fight will definitely not be worth it...Hopefully this won't be the case, but my N95 won't be very far away during the first few days/weeks with the N97
