*OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia N70

You guys know that you can flash your N70s yourself using your data cable that came with it and the BB5 flashing thread stickied at the top of the s60 forum, right?

Why doesn't everyone list some of their favorite programs they have installed on his or her N70? I didn't get my new one yet, but I already know a whole stack that I'm REALLY excited about.

In no particular order. . .

1) Profimail (I've missed it SO much)-3rd Party email client, awesome
2) Full, free, working Opera-much needed 3rd party web browser
3) Panoman (if it works, don't see why it wouldn't)-combines pictures into a large panoramic view
4) Clocksaver-larger screensaver of digital or analog clocks
5) Torch-makes the screen of the phone a flashlight
6) vNES-NES emulator
7) vSUN-SNES emulator
8) Full Screen Caller Pro-self-explanatory?
9) FExplorer-File browser
10) Puppet Master-Control your PC and iTunes over Bluetooth
11) Symella-P2P file sharing application
12) Weather-downloads the current weather for your are on demand
13) Flashlight for N70-uses the FLASH of the phone for a flashlight instead
Edit: 14) Gnubox-Make good use of your PC's internet connection over Bluetooth

yeah but its too technical for me, id rather have a professional do it than having a brick phone in the end ...besides Php550 is like $11, pretty good price, imo

I used to be able to click the back button and erase the number which i have dialed while i made a call, eversince i upgraded to the new firmware theres the stupid video conf button !!

WHY ON EARTH would I want a video conf function while making a call in canada, I want my back button back, how can i do this ???

Great forum guys! Have found many interesting informations.

Well, since I'am a newbie in this forum, and I'am planning to buy a Symbian phone, I'd like to ask experienced Symbian users a few questions :

-how's the N70 camera quality compared to N90 and 3250 (I'am not interested in macro mode),
-how's the N70 operational speed compared to N90 (especialy gallery application loading time),
-how's the N70 overall speed performance,
-have you experienced problems with the lense cover on your N70,
-how do I install a Quickword on N70, is it free to dl ?

TIA, regards to ya all

I hear ya on that one. To read through and learn everything you need to know is a real pain, but I'm glad I did. I feel confident to flash any phone I buy now, but that's only after hours and hours of reading.

- It depends on the firmware. I think my n70 has better camera than those taken by some n70 units that's being reviewed on the web. The consensus is the N70's shots are on the softer side, which I have to agree.

By the way, this is one of my better n70 shots:

Based on the reviews I got on the web (I'm not saying though that they're very accurate:

N90>N70>3250

- N70's overall speed performace (in the latest firmware) is good. However, I disabled my antivirus to make it run significantly faster. It even runs faster if the MMC capacity isn't that high.

- You mean lens cover problem like getting loose dur to constant usage? Nope.

- It's pre installed on N70. But I think it's for reading documents only, and not editing.
