*OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia N70

Look. Just ignore the crappy thingy in the middle

Therefore one may conclude that the numeric keypad of the 6600 just a tad bit bigger than that of the N70's

That looks like it's the white one, which is the one that I have. I don't have the goofy keys like that though.

I know what you're thinking, how can one improve on the perfection that is the N70?

well, jackygor has the answer...

what a sexy phone!

Personally it's a matter of preference. And yeah, a 2 megapixel camera matters.

Also, not everybody wants QWERTY. Majority of people want a phone, not a keyboard

Having owned both 6600 and N70, I would say 6600's buttons are bigger and thus easier to dial with your fingers. 6600 has the edge on that regard but not that much.

hey there, i have just bought a nokia n80, thinking it was a better solution to purchasing the n70, but within 1 day of owning i have found a considerable amount of flaws with it, 1 of which is the camera.

it is great having 3mp and all, but the lagg that comes with it is terrible.

shooting on auto mode you still have to wait around 2 seconds from when the shutter is released until the picture is exposed on screen, making many of the photos blurred.

i was just wondering if the n70 was an improvement from this...i know it have 1mp less than the n80 and the screen quality is not as good, but what is the speed like?

does the image process onto the screen at the same time as the shutter is released?

a response would be appreciated

cheers

tom

I know that the N70 has more RAM than the N80. But each have their strengths and weaknesses. That's Nokia for you...they will never make a perfect phone

that's because the boundaries of "perfect" are always being changed.

no offence but you haven't answered my question here...it says in your profile that you own an n70, so you should be able to tell me about the camera?

cheers

Nah! I think the standard metallic one looks better even if it's the mainstream version.

The metallic lining gives it an elegant look, unlike some of the N series phones that don't really look that classy, except maybe for N80.

Hi Im new here, and Im from the Philippines. I just bought N70 a month ago but up to now I cant seem to appreciate the font that comes with it -- small and all plain.. I was kinda disappointed but i have heard that there's a way of changing the fonts. I've done the usual way of changing the fonts (C:\System\Fonts\font.gdr) but it didn't take effect. Please help me with this matter, mga kababayan ko... Thank you so much!

My favorite shot yet using non-automatic mode (night mode enabled with white balance correction (Tungsten)).

Tried using white balance (cloudy) to make the colors more vibrant but I think the shot got darker instead.

I tried activating tungsten to offset the somewhat pinkish lighting but it resulted to an unnecessary bluish tint.

By the way, is there an app that extends N70's 1 hour video recording limit?

Also, did you guys notice that there's a photoacute for N70? What the hell? Will it interpolate 2 megapixel shots?

I believe that the lag is even longer in N70. To be honest, the camera of N70 (according to some reviews) is better than the N90. But the later released N series phones have way better camera.

N70 doesn't have macro mode.

Ang it's night mode isn't really that effetive,

But its daylight mode is brilliant.

I just opened my N70's slider at the back. For some weird reason, the viewfinder failed to show up. Tried that three times and nothing shows up. The viewfinder shows fine if you directly open the camera app though.

I restarted the phone and everthing went back to normal. Anyone had a similar problem?
