*OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia E71

You know, RIM only supports BBC on the Nokia E62 and 9300, technically. According to them. I really think this is more RIM than Nokia keeping BBC off of the E71.
 
Oh I think you'll find the GPS is more than fun. Include the geotagging with the pics while your jog and you'll have a nice mosaic of your run and you can SEE where you pick up your pace and where your slower (more exhausted). It'll be better for planning your music playlist to REALLY boost your mood at those slower pace areas. Then onto new routes you can share them with like minded individuals or family & friends! Ppl already save movies of their children on DVD or upload them. Now you have your jogging route to share as well :) . I think you'll find this SERIOUSLY useful. I plan to start joggin for the first time this summer using the E71.

Can anyone confirm that the new Python for S60 installs and other python apps work on the S60??
 
Since it was likely designed in mm, this translates to a 60mm screen so 2.36" is a valid dimension.



Keep in mind, to keep the form factors small there are not separate chip sets for each 3G band. There is a single chipset that allows tuning for each of the 3G frequencies. This keeps the development costs down as well as the used surface area on the phone PCBs. The problem comes with the licensing that goes to Qualcomm for the encoding schemes that the chipset will use to packetize data.
 
One of the dealers, which is The Source (used to be Radio Shack) were welling the E62's for $149.99 outright. They sold out in a day in my Province.
AT&T discontinued the N75? When did this happen?

Not sure if my boss will allow another host as we already have one- plus the additional charge a month.

I guess my question should have been does the free MFE software on it's own have the ability to have sent items from the phone show up on my desktop computers sent items in outlook? - it seems that it doesn't- WM phones are not as good but do seem to be better integrated for that purpose
 
So, after a couple weeks with the E71 (and a month of weeks off of these boards), here are some more of my thoughts on the E71...



This discomfort went away after I realized the device is narrow enough for me to use the qwerty keyboard 1 handed. That's right, 1 thumb typing. Once I started that, it was perfect, not "too small".



Otherwise...

It's a great update to the E61i in every way... except one.

The reception was awful. Reliably 2 bars lower than my E61i or E62. This is a deal breaker for me, because reception inside my house is bad in the first place. 2 bars lower basically means: lots of "no service" and dropped calls.

For me to buy one of these, it'll need two things:

1) T-Mobile-USA 3G support
2) UMA support (T-Mobile "Hotspot@Home", which makes up for the spotty service inside the house).

... actually, #1 is "strongly desired" but not necessarily required. #2 is required.
 
i think you missed something along the way. i HAVE ordered the "darn thing"...a full 2 working days ago (monday) to be exact. unfortunately i just havent received any tracking updates for it yet, and rose is supposed to deliver "priority overnight" is what we're ranting about. no big deal, but sooner is nicer than later :2thumbs:
