So, after a couple weeks with the E71 (and a month of weeks off of these boards), here are some more of my thoughts on the E71...
This discomfort went away after I realized the device is narrow enough for me to use the qwerty keyboard 1 handed. That's right, 1 thumb typing. Once I started that, it was perfect, not "too small".
Otherwise...
It's a great update to the E61i in every way... except one.
The reception was awful. Reliably 2 bars lower than my E61i or E62. This is a deal breaker for me, because reception inside my house is bad in the first place. 2 bars lower basically means: lots of "no service" and dropped calls.
For me to buy one of these, it'll need two things:
1) T-Mobile-USA 3G support
2) UMA support (T-Mobile "Hotspot@Home", which makes up for the spotty service inside the house).
... actually, #1 is "strongly desired" but not necessarily required. #2 is required.
