*OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia E71

what are you talking about?? read my post again as you got it totally backwards. the sent emails are reflected on my device and on my desktop.

1and1 is not a program, it is a company that will host your exchange account. mfe is the free software that allows your phone to communicate with the 1and1 servers. it works great. i have used it with n95-1,-2,-3,-4, n82, e71. no problems and dead easy to set up. roadsync sets up easily too

It seems that you can sync Entourage with the OSX Address Book and iCal, which can then sync with devices through iSync (http://home.earthlink.net/~mickey.stevens/tutorials/entouragesync.html). Alternatively, there is an app called e2sync that fills in the missing piece between Entourage and iSync (http://www.e2sync.com/). Costs though.

Can say my E71 feels warm in that area at all, and its been on since I got it (still with 2 bars remaining after its first charge). Weird.

this doesn't work for me... is that coupon code still good?

**edit** just realised you were talking about the E71, not the N97 mini @ $222! :hehehe:

Anyone heard news on the E71 lately?

I'm anxious to see/get the next series60 QWERTY device, but I'm sure there won't be a N.A. version announced until the international version is.

so does that mean there will be no extra costs? And as soon as I receive an email on my computer, I will get an alert to my phone? (or within a minute or 2)

Hondaguy-

Not sure if my boss will allow another host as we already have one- plus the additional charge a month.

I guess my question should have been does the free MFE software on it's own have the ability to have sent items from the phone show up on my desktop computers sent items in outlook? - it seems that it doesn't- WM phones are not as good but do seem to be better integrated for that purpose

Nokia making a push for business is going to be tough, I think they need to have some Subject Matter Experts go to the retail outlets and do a training on the E-Series and how to sell compared to the Blackberry and Microsoft handsets, how an E-Series can integrate into a business...maybe have a SME on hand in store... maybe even give a few away to retail partners...I think getting the frontlines involved and on your side will help sell to the first line customers.

I'll volunteer Nokia...(since you read these forums)

Yea, I know when I had E90 + BB connect, it was for recieving PINs ony. Sort of useless. I've used exchange before, and loved the entire sync. I may as well move to MFE altogether. Just need to find out if my $30/300MB will be good enough.

F*ck it. I am losing patience ,big time now. I need dope now.

I think I will go get a E51 just to kill some time after waiting for that weekend announcement of TIM.

Don't despair. What you need to do is actually to fire up Nokia Software Updater which you could download it from Nokia's website and then connect your cable to your E71. Make sure that your E71 is fully charge and your profile is active (not offline). You would have to ensure that you backup your data too via Nokia PC Suite before you commence the upgrade.

At this moment of writing, the latest firmware for the E71-1 is 400.34.011. Good luck! You can also upgrade your E71's firmware through OTA but using the cable is a better option.

Good luck!
