*OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia E71

Not if it takes too long...much as I like S60 (and I DO like it better), if I buy a phone now it's going to be at least a year before I buy another.

I believe they can. I pray they will. There's plenty of time, but what worries me is that still we have no official release new from Nokia. They've been "spotted in the wild", they've been seen "in AT&T's labs for testing", but Nokia is still mum. Perhaps they're waiting for AT&T to announce it? I just hope lack of official Nokia statement doesn't translate into more delays.

I want it to look like this instead

Nokia fans, S60 fans, Symbian fans of all types, your attention, please! Allow us to set your hearts a-flutter with a few pictures of Nokia's latest two all-business smartphones, the rumored E66 and E71. Both models are pictured here out and about, doing what they do best -- a promising indication that we might be due for an official announcement in the not-too-distant future. We're told that both have 3.2 megapixel cameras (as expected), 128MB of memory, and as we've suspected from the few photos we've seen before, they're "sleek and sexy" in the flesh. Nokia's manufacturing processes appear to be continuing to improve, too, because we're told that the E66 feels "rugged and solid" despite the slide mechanism -- a sore spot with many an N95 owner. Whenever you want to get official with these, Nokia, that would be just fine with us, thanks!

Have no idea. Was waiting for someone more knowledgeable about Symbian to figure that out. you can do it by pressing the phone book one touch button but defeats the purpose.

No it's not enabled. From home screen I press # and it goes to silent mode. Press again and it goes to normal only, no other profile. F/w is 100.07.76

Same, I wish it was released a bit sooner, I wudve bought it in a heartbeat. But then again, I'm certain E71 will do very well outside NA (BB dominated market).

I've been having this strange problem where my applications move between folders by themselves. I don't know if this is an E71 or S60 problem.

When I install an application it automatically goes into the "Installations" folder. Then I move to another folder, say games (I created), communication, or gps (system created). After a little while, the application will move back to the installations folder on its own.

Is there anyway to fix this?

So many people have different opinions and likes about the E71..

Some people are for the screen size, some people are for the size of the handset..

I myself is for the sake of finally having US 3G on a Nokia QWERTY device, plus WiFi..

and what else can I ask for a Predictive text T9 on a QWERTY. :2thumbs:

I dunno...they're being so closed-mouthed I think I'll go hunt down info about the mysterious QWERTY N-Series instead (which will probably look something like the E71, and may be some sort of E/N-71, kind of like the F/A-18 :D)

Are you able to access the company directory as well? (look up contacts from the Global Address List). This functionality is available with MFE for the E61i. Thx!

EDIT: Nevermind, I found out. It's a partial functionality, but it's there:
