*OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia E71

I'm still considering the E71...but the slow roll is getting tedious, and the BlackBerry Bold will drop in July without a doubt.

The Bold should work fine with T-Mobile once it's unlocked. Lots of folks are still using the Curve 8300's and 8310's that they had unlocked and started using before the 8320 came along.

These companies license S60...but don't necessarily own S60....just like SE is licensing WM, but don't own it. I'm not 100% Certain, but I think Nokia did buy the rest of S60 shares and S60 is now a subsidiary of Nokia Corp....

Anyways....what matters is that E71 has still not been officially announced since we heard that it was going to be announced back in April...

I have my E51 set-up so that a short press gives me "new sms" while a long press gives me "messaging".

AFAIK, there's no option to go straight to your SMS inbox, but "messaging" suits me fine.

I really love this phone and I don't really see anything about the fw update that makes me want to screw with it.

Once Nokia issues an NSU specific to my code, I will be more inclined to update. But until then, I'm gonna keep rolling with this very fine device and not risk bricking it.

No E71 on display at London flagship store (had an hour to kill and way hoping to see it in the flesh!). They didn't know when they'd be getting them.

My contact lenses were fuzzy and I read it as ......don't think I can wait for 14months. :2thumbs:

Just a quickie about MFE. Tried it on my e51 with the web2mail free email exchange id. I lost all my calendar entries after installing M4E and no I did not sync it with PC suite after installation. What could be the issue. i too like the M4E better than BBC and it would save tons of monthly rent, even if I opt for paid version of mail2web.

I think, if you will jump off your S60 high horse just a second...and take the time to do a search for it, you'll find many posts around here from people who agree with me that the earpiece on the N95 is too quiet. So...I guess I'm not the only "deaf" one around here...dude...

This phone will do the trick for me, besides the camera which is why I'll still have to keep the N82. It's just sad the people on Engadget didn't bother to pop in a at&t sim card to show its 3G. Also pay attention to the icons in the standby screen of the E71. The one on the far right I've seen somewhere before, I think it changes your phone from work or day mode to play mode.
