*OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia E71

really having 2nd thought on the E71, coz the keys really look small this time and i am very picky when it comes to keypads... well, see in a week or so...

Missing Sync for Symbian has been absolutely flawless for syncing my E71 with my Macs. The wireless proximity sync feature is truly amazing and occurs automatically without me having to do anything when both devices are on and near each other.

The down side is that it does cost money, but in my opinion it is well worth the investment. I have been using Missing Sync on my Mac for syncing numerous phone OS versions for a few years: Palm Garnet, Windows Mobile, and recently Symbian and Blackberry.

A free alternative would be to use an iSync plug-in from Nokia. I have used this before, but personally have never fully trusted it for any of my devices.

I received my brand new e71 last nite(my 2nd)and I forgot just what a gem this device is. So solid.
Anyway, It comes with the original fw 100.xx. I do believe what I've heard about the newest fw 200.xx has got me spooked from upgrading it. Think I'll be sticking with this for now. I hear to many of you wanting to go back to the older fw after issues. Is there a poll around showing how many are happy with the new fw as opposed to the old? Would be interesting to see the score. To early for searching around. Anyway cheers all, off to work with my new "old" toy. :2thumbs:

And of course there are apps like profimail that you can install to give html email.

And the icons should change if you install a different theme, right? At least i thought so...

yes. you have the sound setting set to ascending. turn it off. btw, it's possible you can't change it because it's branded but i highly doubt att messed with that.

@ jontymisra , for now I'm not even having a need to BBConnect. I'd to see PIN to PIN messaging work in a new client for all platforms later this year though. I still need to read up on MFE = Microsoft For Exchange???

Interseting in that survey link I'm reading; and positive findings. The Red Survey on the right of the screen specific to the question:

What Non-work activities help you perform better during a working day?
- Short Exercise break = 0% vs 0% (Canada/United Kingdom)
- Meditation = 0% vs 0%
- Reading = 0% vs 0%
- Listening to Music = 50% vs 50% (Males only poled/responded)
- Socializing Colleagues = 50% vs 0% (Females only poled/responded)

So music is very important to Males in their business devices (no duh), while Socialing with Colleagues seem to be more important to Females. I'd like more of S60 users on All related S60 sites to take part in these poles, especially females. Y? Because it helps Nokia understand their business market - the target for these E-Series and improve on functionality in firmware updates and also on newer device focus. Females tend to use their time during business hours more efficiently, especially when it comes to Email, Web research, and phone call management (Time, Callbacks, Time of Call, Collaboration Conference, Memo's sent to those Called). I'd like to see the Email client more connected to the Call manager as well.

I'm glad Nokia is starting to poll their users and usage of devices.
