*OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia E71

Wirelessly posted (Blackberry 8820: BlackBerry8820/4.5.0.42 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/-1 UP.Link/6.5.1.0.0)

E71 shot up 100 on MCO too. Guess I'm gona wait even longer.

Not a bad review, but it's a bit short on some details...I need to see this thing when it comes out though (SOON SOON PLEASE!!!!)...I'm still half thinking about a Blackberry Bold (or cheaping out and getting an older one). Only half though. ;)

the main reason from word of mouth is because qualcom owns many patens on CDMA technology which 3G HSDPA falls under. qualcom and nokia have many lawsuits between each company over the last year or 2. so nokia has used broadcom's dual band 3G chip rather than a higher multi band chip. that seems to be the word on the street for the last year as to why there are no triband 3G chips used in nokia phones...

Have any of you noticed that the Messaging Inbox forces contact names into Last name, First name regardless of the global settings? Hopefully this can be fixed. I'm using the E90 release of Conversations and it's schweet.

For me.. This is good!! Don't care about FP whatever!

What matters most is that its QWERTY and has US 3G! Makes my job a lil easier..

I might even get my job pay for this phone, if they see that I am more productive on it. :D

The one BG was playing with last week looked like a finished product....he did say it was fast and did not crash, so I'm just curious as to the strategy.

I myself will get it in Sept...but I feel some on this forum whom are not die hard Nokia fans will lose interest if it comes out that late.

I've noticed that too and I'm wondering why as well. I'm guessing it's the size. It's a tiny phone and if you have big hands, I don't think you can get used to the keyboard. I know someone who bought it and sold it the next day. I think it would be perfect for me because I have small hands. But I'm waiting for the NAM version. Until then, I'll keep reading the threads about any issues with the current E71.

Hi,
Can anyone help me? I am San Diego, CA on AT&T and bought the E71 NAM. I cannot for the life of me fix the email. I have to manually connect to the phone to get my email instead of it pushing it. I have the settings to automatically retrieve every 5 minutes, but it doesn't. Does anyone know the settings? I am using the Yahoo! Mail Plus account.

Help!! This is frustating me!!

Patty

The E90 version of Conversation prevents me from sending MMS. One of the other versions (I think it's the E61/E61i/a bunch of other stuff version) works great, lets me send MMS and everything. Only problem is that sometimes it won't show the entirety of the message history, but several of my contacts have over a thousand messages associated with them and it's only missing old ones. It still shows a couple hundred for each contact.

Sometimes it shows them all, it's weird.
