I don't see why there would be any sort of fixed time - each device is different, although I would not be surprised to see new firmware for the E71 in the next few months.
 
Are you asking how common is it that offices in the USA have never heard of S60 or Symbian? I know in the office here, which is a big bank with the letters J P and M in it, they all have BB's or WM devices. Most of them have never heard of S60 but know of Nokia phones. If they have heard of S60 its because of my phone addiction. I dont think you will ever see a big S60 presence in corporate America unless Nokia makes a HUGE push for it, which I doubt.
 
The NAM will definitely be alot faster and I'm sure you'll enjoy that alot more.
I might get the Bold as well because the BB's RF and call quality are excellent!
I'm sure you'll have fun with the iPhone. Personally, I need a phone that has physical keypads, not just all touchscreen. :)

Anybody ever place preorder with these guys before? How good are they on ETA time. Most stores I see usually change their dates when the date actually gets close.

Seriously NYC store always say a long time away, but when N95 8GB came out they told me the same thing (couple of months away) and than a week later they called me and said that the phones were in....I'm hoping NYC store clerk you talked to was off.
 
Thats all well and good, but I dont know a single company running the Nokia solution. I run into BES servers all the time. As long as RIM keeps its eye on the ball, it will be hard to dethrone them.

Every once in a while I run into customers running Apple servers, but usually it is for their marketing dept or advertising or some other department that is doing some sort of artwork. In every case mail and other core business functions are running on Wintel, Linux or IBM iSeries servers.

I agree with most of what you stated, but you've got to admit, the E-71 isnt just aimed for "business" users, but power users like me as well. The reason why RIM is the 'king' of the corporate environment is simply because of the number of policies that can be enforced on BES, not the same on Exchange (well, smaller number compared to BES).

However, BB is still quite reliant for data for almost 95% of it's apps to function, S60 on the other hand can do ALOT, without the usage of any data (I state this because data is still ridiculously expensive in Canada).

Also, E71 has some muscle for it's multimedia functions (mediocre compared to N-series) which makes the device 'less boring'.


At the end of the day, E71 offers the best of both the worlds, BB-Connect and MFE (BB-Connect sucks IMHO compared to MFE).

BB Bold on the other hand is RIM's way of stating BB's arent all just 'work' (iPhone-ish look gives it away). I love the Bold, and will probably pick one up (RIM still makes the best damn keypads out there, E90 was the closest that came to it in terms of QWERTY usage).

At the end of the day, you get what you like (or get both like me :lol:).

Update. Figured out my Music Player issue where it keeps rebuilding the db. Its because I mistakenly put my music in the Sound Clips> Digital Folder instead of the Music folder! Duh yes, but I had so many WinExplorer windows open I dropped them in the wrong folder by mistake. Didn't realize until now.

It supports HTML, a fact :) You do need to open the attachment, as mentioned, and the link for that is at the top and quite easy to launch. I actually prefer non-html and the ability to view html in the rare cases that I care about.
 
Great tip Absolon3 this always left me "ah, how am I suppose to dial those numbers" guys, I'm trying to setup my E71 with Nokia Messaging but I can't get the sms for some reason I'm on Tmobile and when I go and download the app from the url they provide, it downloads but I have to enter my email and password and it sets up the regular nokia email not the new one, I'm totally lost here, I have this on my N85 and it sends me the sms just fine and its setup fine as well, I go in enter my password and voila all is well but on the E71 my main unit now since I returned my N85 back to Dell I can't get Nokia Email(Messaging) setup. Any ideas, this would really make my Valentines, thanks in advance

Strangely enough, this E61 was supposed to be Nokia's corporate clients pushing them for something smarter than a BB or other competition and them listening to those clients.

Man I SWEAR I'd do a LOT better if I lead the American (N & S) Marketing team!
